frame slider question

i got a set of frame sliders for free when i bought my 2012 C14. just wondering if it's a good idea to put it on or not. my main concern is whether it will cause more damage on a zero-to-low-speed drop, specifically on the frame itself, since that's where the slider will be mounted.

the brand name on the packaging and the slider itself says "C Performance", i couldn't find any other info on it on the web.

i have some pics of the left slider. the right slider is a mirror image of the left. please note that for the pics where i'm holding up the slider against the frame, the original engine bolt hasn't been removed yet, so the slider is not sitting completely inside the frame hole where it should be mounted.

any thoughts on the slider itself? is it something worth using or should i get something better designed?

Put them on, I have them. I do not want to have to use them, but if I do drop the bike I hope that the damage will be less with them on.

yeah, i have a feeling the sliders are locally manufactured, most bike shops around here sells these frame sliders. but that's all the info that i can find regarding this particular brand of sliders.
GSG sliders are available locally too, at least GSG ones have some reviews on them.

anyway, thanks guys, i'll probably put them on.

Did your dealer stock them? Their web site is from Malaysia, did they have a price on them?

my dealer stocked it. in fact, i was given a set FOC when i bought my bike.
the website posted above is one of the dealer in Malaysia, but i think the slider was manufactured by someone else. local market seems to be flooded with accessories made by this "C-Performance" company.

price quoted for this slider was around USD100 +-, which is about half the price of GSG sliders available locally.
GSG ones seem to have additional bracing against the frame or engine right under the parts that will impact the floor if the bike is dropped. managed to find only one GSG slider picture that haven't been installed on a bike yet.

The surest way never to drop your bike is to add some protection.   ;)

Not sure if you noticed, but JTK is IN Malaysia.

is there any other no cut slider out there that are efficient?

If i have to cut into fearings, dont want to spend the 700$ associated with a set of Top Block

Any advises?

Well, not exactly true, there are some rubber heat guards that have to be cut on both sides to accomodate the bracing, at least on 2010 and later bikes.  I don't think that is an issue with 08 and 09 C14's.
