Cargo Netting for inside of side bag covers - 2010
« on: December 06, 2011, 02:00:58 PM »
All, I noticed there are 4 notchs in the 4 corners of the covers for the side bags.  Anyone know of a cargo net that will fit perfectly?

I bought two sets of the ones for the Gold Wing and clipped two together for each bag.  They fit and work well that way without being over-stretched.

I bought two packages of these.

There are two nets per pack. I put two nets together back to back with cable ties and they work perfectly.

I posted a pic or two of them installed in my bags but I can't find em now.

They come with the 4 hooks as shown, just take the hooks off where you join the two nets.

I looked for those dang pics with no luck. I must have em on my home PC.

This pic will give you the general idea.

Thanks, just what I am looking for.  Weird though why mother Kawi didn't have these as they provide the mounting points.

The high- end stuff.... you know, the kind in the box with the plastic valve. I believe it comes from that famous vineyard.... you know, the one with all the grapes.

 ;D

OFFTOPIC: actually four (five liter) boxes fit in a Givi 55 as long as you can live with the two results... 1) you cannot close the lid and 2) the bike picks up an odd weave at about 30 MPH. Of course the other problem is that a camelback hose will NOT reach all the way to the box valves if the box is in the topbox.  ::)

The saddle bags on the Gold Wing are bigger than the Concours, how come you need 2 sets?
I used 2 bungee cords and criss crossed them on the lid of each bag, seems to work fine for me.

Me too.  I got two sets on e-bay for about $10.  Great investment for the money.

I don't know what to tell you about the size difference. All I know is that if you use just one net on a C14 it's stretched WAY too tight and actually deforms the bag a bit and makes closing it difficult.

Two nets per package Jay. You need a total of four nets to make it work right.

Here's the pic that I was looking for yesterday.

The Gold Wing bags are 40+ liters each and the C 14 bags are 35 liters each. The mounting points for the nets are in the corners on the c14 bags and on the wing the top 2 are under the hinges not the corner of the bags. But as they said before it will take 2 sets,

I've been using only one net per bag now for about a year. Haven't noticed any lid distortion or other problems. Seems to work great and keeps me from over loading the lid. However now that I've seen two combined I will admit I do like the looks of the extra coverage. Thanks for the pic.... Now I feel the need to buy more... and more... and more.  ;) It just never ends, does it.  :o

There is also a net available for Goldwing trunk lids that is larger and usually slightly less in price than using two for each lid.
