FNG here!
« on: November 29, 2011, 05:27:09 AM »
Just a post to say I'm here and happily riding a new 2011 Connie in Black!
I'm moving UP from a 2009 BMW K1300GT and so far have found the Connie to be a worthy replacement. I'm sure that once I wear the Batleax sneakers off her and replace them with a set of PR3's I'll be even more impressed with her cornering ability.

I bought it from Jason at http://www.ledgewoodpowersports.com/ in Jersey. A great guy to deal with and the management treated me very well during my negotiations.

I'm feeling like this was the perfect move since it's the end of November and on the Saturday I bought it, it was 65 degrees and again on the following Sunday giving me two full days of perfect riding weather to get to know her. How great was that?

So far I bought a tail rack from Phil here on your site and have gained a bunch of knowledge in this short time. A big thanks to my friend JamminJere for pointing me to the site.

Congrats on the new ride.  I too bought my 2010 from Ledgewood Powersports....as a matter of fact, have bought a number of quads and dirt bikes from them as well.  Great place to deal with.  Welcome to the forums.

Welcome to the connie world. What made you decide to go from a BMW 1300GT to a concours. One of my riding buddies has a 1300GT and loves it. He had trouble twice with the security system but other than that has no problems. And when the security is set off you have to take it to a BMW dealer to have it reset, what a pain.

I'm sorry to hear you had to get the slow one ;D  I do understand as the fastest Neutron Grey is hard to find, we just don't let em out of our possesion, they either get wrecked or ridden, and when they get wrecked, they get rebuilt and ridden, just ask Jeremy ;)

Welcome to the forum, there are lots of really knowledgable folks and lots of great info.  Be wary of www.murphskits.com , he is known for spending your money, he enhances this by offering top shelf service and farkles.  If he aint got what ya need he will lead you to the whereabouts of said mandatory safety enhancing item ;D

I was mislead! I was told that it's a well known fact that Kawasaki tuned an additional 15hp into their black models knowing that only talented riders bought them.  8)

I was on Murphs kits this morning looking at the shifter bearing kit. Its a little odd feeling all the play in the factor setup.

My GT is in the shop as I write having the final drive replaced after only 17k on the clock. I ride hard and it seems BMW can't keep up. I had a 2005 (2004 1150 body type) that left me stranded in Nova Scotia with a FD failure. BMWNA took really good care of me as I was just outside of warranty so that's what made me get another Beemer. With this last issue and all the recalls on my 09 I decided it was time to move on.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome!

It's just a rumor started by guys riding black bikes. We all know that the silver C14s are the fastest.

Seems simple enough. Did you find that is solidified the shift lever? For only $21.00 it seems like a neat project.

The ride did, not the shifter.

You was not mislead, it is the honest truth, if you don't believe me....just ask me.

Congrats.

It's the blue ones that have the extra HP. We just don't believe in showing off.
Welcome to the fray, Don! I did the shifter bearing deal; you'll like it. Which top case did you decide on?

I'm getting the Givi V46. It looks like a nice size without being huge like the one on my GT. That things just stoopit looking!
