http://www.muzzys.com/ZX14/ZX14_engines/
Muzzys performance products now has available new, "in the box" ZX-14 engine assemblies. These 1352 cc engines are complete with 44mm throttle bodies, engine wiring harness, and coils, just as you would install into the chassis. The ZX-14 engine has a bore / stroke of 84 x 61mm and produces approximately 184 rear wheel hp (motorcycle) with tuned racing exhaust. As with all modern motorcycle engines this is a modular unit which incorporates a 6 speed transmission and wet clutch. They have been bench tested before shipping from the factory and are ready to run or to serve as the basis for a race engine build. These engines are intended for off road, racing use only. Engines sold with NO WARRANTY.
Price is $6,295.95 plus shipping

They may bolt straight in to the frame but will they just plug in to the ECU?

If one drops 7K on an engine, a few hundred for an ebay ECO shouldn't factor?

My prob would be my old Zx14 got 29 MPG rendering it useless junk for sport touring purposes.  I wish my C14 would go further between stops and I sometimes carry an extra gallon in case I run out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm pretty sure that by the time we do all the basic performance mods to our C14 engine (Full exhaust, ECU reflash to raise rev-limiter, ZX-14 TB's, etc) about the only things we are missing from the ZX-14 engine are higher compression pistons and a little different cam profile.

And how would this "plug-in" to the power train?  Doesn't the transmission and drive assemblies come with the engine?  How would this fit into the shaft drive rear end?  I am probably a bit uninformed about how the power train is put together on these bikes though....

Hmmm, interesting indeed, thanks for posting GP!

I think for close to $7k though I'd just by an entire used ZX14 to play around on and keep the Connie...  :-\

My thoughts exactly, and I am seriously thinking of doing just that in the not too distant future.

WOW, 7K for an engine, WTF?! Yeah, I would rather just buy a ZX14 and keep my Connie for that price. Then again, if I wanted something faster, I would probably pick up a S1000RR over the ZX14.
