Kawasaki Diagnostic System V3

Just curious, has anyone ever gotten their hands on this kit?  I'm sure it costs hundreds, but would imagine it wouldn't be a bad system to have.  Never seen it or even know all it can do.  I guess its what the dealerships use (for one) to code new FOBs though, yeah?

The software is not pricey but the adapter is. If I remember right it is about $700 for enough components to make it work.

There is a user on this forum that has the software and he might chime in on this thread.

The software really does not do enough to be worth it to an individual user to purchase it IMO. It does not allow you into the ECU for example so you cannot alter timing, mixture or anything else regarding running characteristics. The main use for it on a C-14 seems to be coding the bike to recognize new tire pressure senders and new fobs for the KiPass unit. The great majority of replacements of the TPS senders seem to have been done under warranty so coding the bike does not cost the owner anything. Replacing a lost or damaged fob seems to cost about a half- hour of labor at most dealer so it would take a lot of lost fobs to come out ahead on buying the software.

I bought it and just used to register new TPS.
In my case no one has this unit and i can recover the investment. Until
now i have registered 3 TPS x $60 each = $180.
I paid almost $1000 for the unit.
The unit has another function that can be usefull at anytime. But, i thing that is not
a good investment for USA citizen. You have dealer around all the country.

Ok, the unit has another function like

- register new fob
- register new ECU
- Replacing the steering lock unit
- Inyection system test
- Displaying failure information
- Testing the fuel pump
- Testing ignition coil operation
- Testing the sub-throttle valve actuator
- Testing the oil control valve solenoid

There is only one Kawasaki dealer here, in Caracas (500 miles from my town), but they
do not have the unit. , Really they don´t  have bikes either.
