visit Ohlins USA if you have a chance!
« on: August 17, 2011, 06:30:15 PM »
****This pics I had posted on the old forum and before I got into photography, but wanted to share because I KNOW Ohlins is top of the heap and second to none for motorcycle products and racing.

I was all over the mountains for a few weeks with a sportbike and was in Hendersonville, NC. I decided to drop in Ohlins.  The receptionist was nice and half embarrassed I said "I'm a fan of your products and was wondering if I could peek inside"

The president of the company heard that and said "you're either a customer or potential customer, can I give you a tour?"

I was treated like gold by Doug Shaw and suggest everyone drop in if you have a chance. I know to some who take suspension stuff there its no big deal, but to me it was huge.

I'm also a fan of Brock's, and wow the prez spoke highly of him when I mentioned his hat!

12K forks being shipped:

Prez made sure I had a hat, shirt, and his card:

The HONDA racee car was in the lab and I met the crew chief, but I wasn't allowed to take pics in there. I got the truck out back

I didn't care for him taking my dorky pic as I was leaving, but its all good

I just sent Ohlins an email hopefully they will respond since none of the other retailers (racetech to name one) have even returned an email to try and sell me anything.  I would like to go ahead and outfit my bike with an upgraded suspension since I'm not an average sized rider.  Anybody have any ideas on how much rebuilding the forks would cost?  I know the rear shock will run somewhere around $1200-$1300.  Just trying to brace for some sticker shock when I get the email back from them telling me how much the whole package will cost.

Looks like a fun tour for sure Steve, thanks for sharing!  :chugbeer:

I thought I remembered something about the rear not fitting right on the C14 and it had to be sent back and get ground down or somethign like that... Am I remembering wrong or did that eventually get dialed in??

Anyone on here done both forks and rear from Ohlins??

I was digging for info and this thread was towards the top of the list.  I think I am gonna have Ohlins do my forks and Penske for the shock.

You won't regret either one of them either.

I hope not, for $1500 I better love them.  After reading some reviews I think I will be happy with them.  I am doing some more research and pricing but I will probably order next week.

For those of you that know, does Ohlins do suspension for the C10 as well?

I talked to Matt yesterday and he said they could rebuild the forks for any bike.  The only limitation is how the OEM forks are made, otherwise they can replace everything to custom make a fork for the customer.
