I have the new RP3's, they work better than any tire in the rain. The best tire I ever had, bar none.

Given that the 55 has 5 mm more diameter (or radius?) than the 50, does that also mean it has a thicker cross section in the center for more tread life?

FYI:

Overall height difference
50 series = 24.48 inches
55 series = 25.23 inches

Roughly .75 inches taller tire

Divide by 2.
3/8 top and bottom.
Therefore sits 3/8 higher before compressing under the weight of bike and rider.
Effectively a 1/4 inch raise.

Ah, because of leg reach, eh? Tell you what, buy new tires and ship them to me and I will adjust the standing height down by a little bit and send them back to you. It is not something I would do for everyone but I would help out a fellow forum user if I could. It might take me a few months to 'reduce' the radius of the tire....
