area P questions

Has anyone ridden both the full Area P system, fuel moto PCV, flies out AND the same specs but with just a slip on? I am about to order from Fuel Moto and would like advise as to what the real difference between the Slip and Full monti is apart from more overall HP at the top? I would have liked to see the dyno chart of a slip on with flies out verses in but it's not posted on Fuel Motos site... anyone have a comparison?

Well yes I've seen these dnyo charts ... they show flies out modsand stock. I wondered about slip on flies in vrs flies out... also ride comparisons between full system and slip on both flies out.

I don't trust seat of the pants at all, and the stock C14 makes more power than most anyone can use. That said, mine made 149 HP on the dyno with the AreaP full system, flies out, and Fuel Moto map. You will be happy with it.
I did run the slip-on and flies out map first.

So, slip-on verses full system... given it is more trouble to pull the plastics and do a full system is it worth doing? More power than anyone can ever use almost sounds like enough but the stock Connie while having an abundance of power when cranking it on, sometimes feels less linear than I would like.

If you've tried both systems with files out is it enough of a difference with a full system to warrant the extra expense or trouble fitting it? I am looking for impressions on how it feels with the butt dyno, numbers are great too but FEEL is just as valid I think?

no doubt I would most likely be satisfied with both slip on, flies out and full system, flies out but not having ridden either will I notice a difference?

A full system will give you at "minimum" a 10% hp gain, which is pretty substantial IMO...

I was trying to talk myself into a slip-on but I really want to get rid of the cats and after seeing a pic of the stock header next to an AreaP I'm sold. The usual downside to a full system is a softer bottom end but I think doing the flies at the same time should solve that.

I can't comment on the slip on only setup but dyno charts show that it doesn't do much for the bike power-wise. I was running flies out, PCV, stock exhaust and installed the full system last weekend along with a BMC air filter and it REALLY woke up the bike. It actually has some top end now, which is something I desperately wanted from this bike having come from an FZ1 which made amazing power above 7k. The bike seems to have picked up significant torque across the board with the full system. When going WOT in 1st gear the front tire will shoot straight up at about 5k if you have traction. And that's with my 300lbs in the saddle.

The muzzy full system leaves nothing to be desired.

The AreaP leaves nothing to be desired in a single exhaust!

I know.....I enjoy both.....really love the muzzy with ceramic coating. Wish everyone could test both units.  Each system.....is just perfect!

I posted the results of a dyno run of my bike with Area P slip on, PCV, flies out, and K&N airfilter and about 1600 miles on my 09...151 hp! I am sorry I don't have torque figures. The run on the dyno was a free one and they just provided a hp figure. Power feels great all over the place, freeway runs at 70-75 mph are yielding 42-43 mpg. I wish the fuel mileage was a little better, but I am very happy with my set up. I ride everyday.

It's immaterial.  That dyno could show high numbers.  It may be 142 on another dyno.  No way of knowing.  I don't get all religious about dyno sheets, but the fact is, that sounds VERY high for just a slip-on. That is full Area P and all the mods, flys out, numbers.

Exactly, that is why I advocate getting before AND after dyno runs.  The actual numbers mean nothing, it is the gain that you are looking for.

Forgot to mention that mine is black! ;D

I learned several bikes ago that full exhaust on road going bikes aren't worth the extra dough to me. OP good luck with whatever you chose!
