Why I will avoid Biker Bandit in the future (long post)

They had a great deal for one day on Gmax GM54s. So, I ordered two - a large for me, and a XS for wife. They showed all colors available, so chose titanium. A few days later, got an email saying wife's helmet is shipped, mine is in back order. No biggie. So, I contacted biker bandit, and here is the conversation with Victor on June 22.

I did not see any email come through. I checked my account page - nothing there. Checked my credit card - nada. I thought maybe they need my credit card info and forgot to take it. Waited Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Granted most shops do not do business over weekend. Contacted them Monday morning again because I still have not seen anything. And here is my last conversation with Shalene.

Hate to say "told ya" but I told ya.

Going to check with my local dealer who I know sells a lot of Gmax helmets and doesn't play any games. See if he has them. Will get back to you.

Its alright JetLock. I am going down to St Louis next weekend. I am going to try out some helmet for myself and buy one. Not going to just stick with Gmax. The deal was good and so tried to get one.

Cancel both orders... notify credit card NOT to honor the charges...

Order helmets someplace else.

Second one is already shipped out and is at my door. Judging by this, I will be extremely lucky if it fits my wife properly or she likes it. If not, I may have to try ebay or sale section in this forum. Or maybe put on my old helmet and hit my head against the wall while I talk about returning it to them.

I would.  I've reported an online company for pulling a similar bait and switch (it was a cell phone company, but similar situation with not having the exact color phone in stock) and the BBB asked me what I felt an acceptable solution would be and I told them I wanted the other color at the lower price and then the company finally agreed.

Total waste of time. The BBB has no authority and since you're not officially out any money, no real complaint in their view.

Not only that, the BBB is worthless for resolutions unless the company is a paying member. To become a BBB members, a company must elect and pay for a "subscription". Posting a bad review on http://www.resellerratings.com would do more damage than the BBB. You can also file a complaint with their local  Attorney General's Office (consumer complaint division). However, as no laws were broken and no money was lost, it would be a complete waste of time...

I did put bad rating at resellerratings.com. Also, I noticed they are member of BBB - that is why I thought of complaining. But I will not defer going that far.
