Storage compartment in the right fairing?

Has anyone found or made a storage compartment for the right side fairing?

I don't carry the side cases unless I need them and that leaves one tiny storage compartment on the left fairing.
I cannot get by billfold AND iPhone in there together.

If nothing is available I'll consider making one to market if there is enough interest.

You might get a few customers but I doubt you'd get enough to make it worth your time. Many have an evap. canister under that cover and others use the area below for extra electronics like fuzeblocks, horns, and cruise control actuators. Now if you enjoy the work for itself and could care less about the ensuing riches and customer adoration that may never show..well then go for it.

If you have a 2010 or newer (which I assume you do) you can add the 2008-9 storage box over the gas tank.
All you have to do is buy all the parts (or find a used one) and then replace the cover that's on there now with the C14 Gen I box.

I did it on my 2012, You DO have to relocate the relays & put a shim on the front bolt. I did a little grinding with a dremel tool on the underside of the glove box to make it sit flusher to the tank. The ABS brake line keeps the glove box from sitting down all the way, It's fine as is but I did not like the open space between the glove box & tank so With a little grinding & reshaping of the bottom with a heat gun I got it real close.

Another option if never 2-up, get a Sargent World seat with the "pod" option on it and that is at least twice the storage of a little glovebox thing.

I got the answers I was looking for, maybe not the ones I wanted. I was curious if that area was being used for other equipment, seems that it is.

I'm coming from an old K100RT which has two identical compartments in the fairing big enough to put everything I need unless I'm spending the night somewhere.  I just don't want the bags on day trips.

I did consider the earlier tank compartment but discovered it is not a direct fit and then there's the money plus time to find the parts and modify it.

I may make a tray with a raised lip that will give me access from the side.  Gloves, helmet liner and shades would slip in there when not riding.  Nothing small like change nor valuables. I have started carrying my license and a CC in by phone case which I keep locked in the left compartment. Throw in a little cash and I've got what I need for day trips.

I keep all my vehicles for many years, like 12 to 15 yrs. SO when I get a new or late model it's a world of difference.
I really like the C14.  The first thing I did was to get rid of the bazooka sized muffler followed by adding the accessories I want on the machine.  I am impressed with its performance and Kaw has designed it well.  I will have it for a long time too!

If you have a 2015 or newer bike, they now come standard with CA emissions, and unless you want to remove the charcoal canister, that space is taken. I can shove my LG G4 phone and a billfold wallet in there. Hate tank bags myself, but always carry a tail bag. Still like my wallet and phone in front though. Good luck with your project.

I wondered why  the bike didnt have two and assumed the right was full under that section. I carry a 1' expandable baton and insurance and registration papers  in wallet and thats it. Never go any were without a thump stick ,my 380 will fit in their for longer trips as well. line it with foam and you could carry a small pistol or revolver for those of us who do,easy access at the push of a button as long as bike is in on mode or running.

I removed that mechanism entirely (1+ lbs), so now I have access at the push of a button all the time . And if you live in TX, you can now carry your gun like a cowboy (open carry), if you want .

yep, I live in So. Cal. and the right side is occupied under the dash.

Speaking of carrying guns on the bike, I want to attach a rifle holder like the Motorcops do and then carry an AR while riding

With a holder on the rear of the bike you would have access to the weapon at all times, just have to figure out how to do it "legally! Oh wait, I live in So. Cal where nothing in the form of a weapon is legal, you can't own a BB Gun here without the threat of arrest!
