Recommendation for source for caliper rebuild kit?
« on: December 18, 2015, 04:18:22 PM »
Need to rebuild my front calipers, and am wondering if anyone can give a good recommendation for a rebuild kit: gaskets, seals, and other stuff. Tried Bike Bandit, but could not get any success on my searches. Ditto no luck on Murphs Kits. Found kits for the Gen. 1 Concours, but nothing for 2008 up. Mine's a 2010, with ABS.

Anybody got a vendor they can recommend?

Edit to correct above post: all kits found are for C-10; none have been found for any C-14, neither Gen. 1, nor Gen. 2. When I said "Gen 1 above, what I meant was C-10.

I don't think anything has changed with the calipers themselves.  The only sure way to know is to compare part numbers from an 09 to your bike to see if they are the same.   If so, then the kit for the gen1 will work for the gen2.  Please bear in mind I've started drinking so take all of this with a shot of vodka.

Please bear in mind that we consider the 08/09 C14 as gen 1 and the 10's on up as gen 2 as it relates to this board.  The C10 has no bearing on anything here part wise as far as I know.

Thanks, Jim! I mis-spoke above. I should have said C-10, not Gen. 1.

I can find no kits anywhere for the C-14, regardless of generation.

I edited my first post above for this mistake.

http://www.ronayers.com   Don't know if in rebuild-kit form.  Doubt it.  Brakecrafters link above looks like the ticket.

Found this...https://brakecrafters.com/product/caliper-seal-kit-bcnr0036/

Wow, Gary!  Excellent find indeed.  Added that to the parts FAQ.

How did you find this....through Google?  Cause searching within their site for Concours 1400 (which is a valid model on the product list) yields very little and no caliper rebuild kit.  Their fitment is for the GTR version (which of course is the same), but it isn't a bike on their search list.

Makes sense to me...  I may (assuming gumption) write them a note about their silly search engine..
