Disconnect the 2010 fairing storage box electric lock
« on: August 31, 2015, 09:00:52 AM »
Hi all, I don't put anything in the storage box worth taking, so I was wondering if there is a mod to disconnect the electric lock. I would like to access it anytime.

Thanks a head for your help.

Disconnected mine a couple of years ago, using instructions found either on this forum, or maybe the COG forum. I forget which.

Sure is handy to be able to open the latch anytime you darn well please!

Great. I have been thinking about this for awhile. The spring on mine has sucked since day and the dealer has so far refused to do the upgrade that fixes the problem. "Just a little squirt of silicone and everything will be fine" is all I get. Sure, for about three openings.

Either go to another dealer or call Kwackers and let them know that the dealer won't put on the upgraded parts.

Just remove the entire mechanism ;D. Did this since day 1 myself. Posted detailed pics somewhere here. Look for the few threads I've started if interested.
