So, forgive me for being ignorant here but, I have the main FOB and I have an additional "key" that the guy gave me when I bought the bike. Is that additional "key" the passive FOB or should I have 2 FOB's...the one I am using and an adiitional FOB just like it? I'm confused

From what I found out each C14 comes from the factory with 2 FOBs. 1 active FOB which you can start the bike within 5 feet of proximity and the passive FOB which you have to hold directly to the ignition casing on the front side for the bike to start. Some year models came with 2 active FOB's, not sure which ones though. The active FOB has a key in it to open the gas cap, saddlebags, and remove the seat.
I also only got one FOB when I bought my bike and I was told it was the passive FOB but that was incorrect information. It is actually the active FOB.
I bought a spare passive FOB which I am trying to get programmed to at least have 1 spare because I am certainly not cool with spending about a $1000 for a new ECU, new FOBs to program, and labor to do it.
