Not sure if you're wanting new or pre-owned but last year I picked up my 2008 with 8K miles for $5400.  I've seen reports of other 08's selling in the $5000 range recently.  You can probably find an 09 for $6K.  I know folks like to ask more, but with NEW left-over 2013's available for under $10K that really pushes the resale market down.  Sucks if you're selling but is great if you're shopping.

I will definitely be looking for used... basically the best deal on an ABS model that I can find for $6000 to about $7300 or so.  Hopefully it will still be a buyers market for 14s in September.

Saw this on ebay.  Says buy it now for $5000.  2008 ABS model.  Didn't dig deeper, but that is a good price.  For example purposes.

Checked around the Houston and Austin metro areas and 08's asking prices were $7500 or better.  Saw a used 13 at $9450, all on craigslist. tomp

Thanks... took a loot a that one on ebay... $5000 is the starting bid... $9500 is the Buy It Now price... which he will never get!  I have seen some mint ones on Craigslist in the southeast... one '09 ABS model that has less than 5k on it.. he's asking $7900... I could probably get it for close to $7300 with cash in hand- which is how I will be buying when I do.

I see what you are saying about the CL post,  it is rather confusing. He's dreaming if he thinks he will get anywhere near his asking price.   I got my 08 a year ago with 21K miles on it, also new Z8's, brake pads all around, and factory top case, for $6,000, a good price in my area, from a dealer friend, though.  They wanted $7400 for it at the start of the deal.

Looks like they have several on the lot now, and have brought the prices down too.

That '08 ABS model with only 4K on it for $6999.... that's the kind of thing I would prob go after and see how low I could get him.  That's what I will looking for in Sept.  Nice.

Call Edward, at the dealership, and tell him Tom Peterson sent you.  Don't wait until September.  I've bought 11 bikes from him over the years.  He'll take care of you, or let me know.    tp

I appreciate that, and in  late August or Sept, will check back to see what he has.  I have to take care of moving and some other things at home, so purchasing before late Aug/Sept isnt a real option.  That's when I will be free and clear of some things we are taking care of financially and have all the cash in hand.  Will be interested what he has at that time, though.

That looks to be a great buy, too.  DFW area, so shouldn't be any winter salt or road chemical problems...

Added bonus would be getting one with the Extended Warranty kept up. Check up top for the  Sticky to extend it out if it is intact.

Don't forget that you will want a bit of room to put tires and some creature comforts in the area of the seat, windscreen and various other farkles. Always sucks to buy a house and not have enough left for furniture
