2015 ZGGTR - New Seat on fitment
« on: November 04, 2014, 03:26:47 PM »
Does anyone think the new ZG seat will fit on a 2012 concours?

Like to more stepped look and there is no way it could be higher.

I can't imagine the seat fitting (pan) would be any different.

Did you notice the Akrapovic slipon at 4:36? Interesting since this is billed as an official Kaw video.

I saw that, and the gps too.  Earlier they had some nice looking wings to deflect air around the hands.

Those wings are already available from Kawasaki.  I noticed that the the topcase they showed looked like the Give V47 monokey.

Yes... I thought that was a mistake and I did a double-take... then it suddenly was stock again.  Maybe they are playing subliminal games or something :)

I don't think I once heard the word Concours...always GTR. Leads me to think this vid was for Euro consumption.

Seem to remember reading Akra exhaust being something like a Kawi-approved item for the ZX-14R. Maybe in Europe, not sure, trying to find it again.

Akrapovič list a slip-on for the 2008 to 2015 1400GTR and C14 in its German site, meaning that it's TÜV approved, meaning that it's road legal as good as everywhere. The page even shows off the EC, EPA, CARB and ECE approval. I just don't know what it costs, and I don't believe the 5.1 HP increase they claim. The curve seems strange, though, as I don't remember having seen the drop at 2500 rpm, but I think all the diagrams I've seen start at 3000 rpm, like this one.
To Akrapovič's credit, I read once a report on 11 slip on's being sold in Germany for a Bandit or some other popular bike, where the bike was dyno'ed before and after every change. Every manufacturer claimed stupid numbers, but in fact the changes were negligible, less than 1/2 hp for most, sometimes even in the minus. Remus did fulfill its promised 1 HP gain, and Akrapovič 2.5 HP gain.

Build bridges, not walls.

Education is important. Riding my bike is importanter.

Hi,
Looks like they cut the seat down for you "short" people! As usual! I'll keep my LAMM! They cut a bigger hole in the bottom of the windscreen, I'll keep my MRA Vario!

They cut down the "potato launcher" I'll keep my Delkelvic! Not missing anything on my 2012 that I can see??? Wonder whats new for 2016? Thanks for the vid! Interesting! 8)

Yeah, it looks nice, but I'll take my heated Corbin over that any day.

I do like the windscreen opening up for the hot days. 8)

That Atomic Silver sure looks good in pics. Imagine quite daring in person as well. That extra shine seems to grab ya.

The first few pics of the seat is the same Kawasaki Gel seat I have.

Then, later on, it changes to one that looks like the similar shape, but different cover, and they say the passenger section is wider.

Should work fine on a '12.

Silver bezel rings around the gauges, and a vent in the windscreen.

I dig the vent in the windscreen. There's a new idea for the aftermarket guys.

Can't believe this is all they're going to change for '15.
