Yup, those are them. I have them on my bike. They are fantastic at night or in lower light such as a dark cloudy day. But barely visible on a bright sunny day. Now that I'm commuting in the dark or twilight hours morning and evening, one of the best farkles I've put on the bike.

I bought the mirrors from ProjektD. They are really good in low light and at night...so-so during the day but still a good thing to have. The install is lengthy. You have to pull the sides and windscreen off and disassemble the entire mirror assembly. I wouldn't say it is hard to do but it is a long process (a good chunk of a day). The results are well worth it. The LED is nice to have in the mirror and like I said earlier, the mirror itself is awesome because it picks cars up that would normally be in your blind spot. I'm with Rhino in that it is one of the best farkles on my bike.

You can also get side emitting LEDs which (IMO) show up much better in the daylight, but can be almost too bright at night.

I stole the idea from Fred H., although he freely shared it in his picture gallery so I guess I'm not a thief but rather a flatterer by imitation?

Hey Fartymarty,
Is that the entire 20" length or have you cut it down.
If you did cut it did you just seal the cut end with silicone or something like that.

I cut it down. There was a little white line after every three diodes that indicated a cut point. I did nothing to the end as it is solid vinyl. I suppose that it's possible for some corrosion to enter from the very end and work it's way up the foil, but the location is sort of protected at the top inside of the mirror housing. Another thing is that the link I had in my earlier post shows updated LEDs from the time I purchased mine. The updated LEDs are one cm apart mine are closer to 1.5 cm apart and IIRC mine came in 18in lengths not 20in. Regardless, I rarely forget to cancel my signal now.

V'Jim posted the prodjectD PDF instructions here, and they are handy for wire routing and drill location etc. I modified my wiring to more closely match the ProjectD routing because it was much better than my original routing. Thanks again Jim for posting that.
