Hugger Group Buy thru Nov 7, 2014
« on: October 13, 2014, 01:14:38 PM »
Ok, here's the skinny:

David just returned my call and he was a VERY pleasant person to deal with!!
We now have a COG Group Buy (for the C-14 rear Hugger fenders) arranged with David Cork of Street Fighter by Design!!

David said he will do a group buy for COG..
He set the end date on the 7th of November!!

Prices:
Fiberglass rear Hugger:     Reg. $170.00 - reduced to $144.50 plus shipping (reduced from $15.00 to $10.00 in CONUS)
Carbon Fiber rear Hugger: Reg. $270.00 - reduced to $230.00 plus shipping (reduced from $15.00 to $10.00 in CONUS)

In order to get in on this Group Buy you MUST call or E-mail him "before" November 7th!!
    (1) 772 597-3207
    sbd@davidcork.com
    www.streetfightersbydesign.com

    http://www.streetfightersbydesign.com/

When you call him, mention COG Group buy... (And tell him COG sez "Thank you"!)

Details: * David (was honest) and says he is cutting his profit pretty heavily to do this for us.
He said he needs us to purchase at least 6 of the fenders to make it work for him. (More is fine)
            * He will take the orders (COG Group Buy) until Nov. 7th.
             * After November 7th he will (charge the fenders to our cards) and have all of them shipped to him from Europe.  (To save shipping costs)
As soon as he receives them, he will ship to us... (I already ordered mine)

Let me know if I can answer any questions?

NOTE: Go here to see the original discussion and to get more information/pictures,,,,,, keep the current discussion here.

Just curious about shipping from the uk, and that cost...
Going to the skidmarx site, they have a 10% discount going on currently, making their price $120 / $200 for fg vs cf products..u.s. currency.

Just asking, because I don't purchase foreign good, and have no idea on corporate to corporate shipping charges.

When I saw the Hugger installed the owner said that the shield was stopping road grime from being thrown on him. When I'm riding my white socks are getting dirty above my boot under my long pants, I hope this will help, anyone have input?

I got mine to help keep the yuk off my rear Ohlins shock, and it does help with that, so I'm happy with mine.  :)

Not sure how to answer that.
David commented that shipping from Eu was ridiculous. (He's having all the fenders shipped to him as 1 package to save shipping costs) and I'm sure his price includes the shipping to him from Eu.

I assume that (BECAUSE OF SHIPPING) buying each fender individually from Eu would cost about the same, but you would probably get your fender sooner.

I told David I'd be point man on this if he would give us the discount, and I'll stick by my word.
Plus, I really enjoyed talking with the guy.
So, ya'll know who I'm purchasing from...

What brand rear hugger is this?

I'm asking because I bought one for my Versys through David and had to get a warranty replacement that also failed in the same spot.  Had to do a repair and add some zip ties to spread the load on the hugger.

I'd be interested if it is not the same company that makes te Versys hugger.

Skidmarx is the brand, that's what David sells anyways. I've had mine installed for 3 years or so now and have had zero issues with the hugger (after replacing the fasteners). It looks good and I'd buy it again.

It might have been some clearance issues (fasteners) with the tires that came into play.  I seem to recall that there were some issues with that initially.

Thanks.  Different brand than the Versys hugger he sold me.

I think I am going with the Fender extenders front and rear from Blue One.  The hugger won't keep my trunk mechanisms clean, but that rear extender looks like it will do the job.

The stock fasteners are reused to mount the hugger and some anal folks (like me) thought that the stock bolts are just a tad too short to mount the hugger brackets properly (the nuts may or may not get all the treads of the bolt). Here's the part numbers for the same bolts only slightly longer, they work perfectly.

92153-1944   BOLT,SOCKET,10X67

Here's what I'm talking about. The first pic is of the stock bolt. You can see that the nut is not getting the last bit of threads on the bolt. The second pic (cell phone, sorry) is of the longer bolt.

Those bolts are in a critical location, just any old bolts will not do.

Click on the pic and then details if you want to zoom in even closer.

Twowheeladdict; I just saw Blue One's fender extenders, and I will (also) be getting his (front) fender extender.
(Looks like it will do a great job of protecting the radiator)

(on the rear) I'm more concerned with keeping the shock, electronics, protected from grime.
The fender extender does not protect that area of the bike..
My personal preference is for the rear area of the bike to appear open, (without a fender wrapped around the tire), so
                         I prefer the Hugger fender.

But I do appreciate your opinion and I want others to know there is an option..

Conrad, thanks for the info!!

Keep us posted on how it comes out for you.  See ya'll on the road!

Ride safe, Ted

PS: I think that 4 members have contacted David and he requested at least 6. So spread the word and see if anyone else is interested...

UPDATE: I just talked to David. He said that 2 have called and ordered the Fenders, and others have contacted him by Email.
He replied for them to "call him "at Phone-772-597-3207 as he prefers to talk with folks and answer their questions.
So, if you want to get in on the reduced price and purchase the fenders, "call David"

Gigantor/Joe, I see you have some nice farkles for your Connie already.
The Hugger will add to it.

Have you joined COG? If not, I highly recommend it.
