Bent rear footpeg bracket

The LHS bracket is slightly bent from a tipover and consequently the saddlebag will not seat properly. Anybody have suggestions on how to straighten out the offending part? It appears to be the same type of metal as the handlebars which shear on impact instead of fully bending?

Best way to straighten it is by replacing it. 30 Bucks on Ebay:

Cast aluminum is very difficult to bend without breaking...especially the 2nd time. Bending it one way without breaking is difficult enough....bending it back the other way is even harder.

If you do try to bend it back, use heat, and then repaint it afterwards with a black rattlecan.

Thanks for the info. I will try the heat and gently bend approach before coughing up $100+ for a new one. Problem with the eBay route is that in most cases the salvage parts are likely to have suffered the same damage you are trying to rectify. I speak from experience in this particular instance.
