Well, I wash and replace my liner on occasion. So, if the non-removable/replaceable headliner doesn't bother you, more power to ya'.

As for comfort and weight, they are nearly identical. I WOULD say the Qwest is a bit more comfortable but primarily because the cheek pads on the RF are a little tight. Noise levels are subjective.

Don't get me wrong, both helmets are good. However, I have an inexpensive ($100.00) HJC that came with removable liners and a free pinlock windshield. You'd think that Shoei would have included cheap plastic snaps into their ~$350.00 helmets instead of securing the liner with crappy double sided tape...

FYIY, You might also want to check out the new Bell RS-1. Cost wise, it's on par with the Qwest. However, the build quality, ventilation and comfort are much better. Also, the additional transition shield puts the RS-1 in a class of its own.

I've actually been looking at the RS-1 for all of those reasons you listed--particularly the transition shield. The shield isn't widely available yet, but when it is I'm definitely going to check it out.

I've been washing my liners in the helmet for years. The helmet makes a good basin for Woolite and water--no removal necessary. Just takes a little longer to dry.

Son of Pappy, someone reported you to MSF.  They are saying that this is an inside deal - for insturctors and sponsors ONLY!

You shouldn't of telling everyone on the world that we are getting a deal for X12, your could kill the sale of X12 for Shoei.

You should look at the MSF forum about the rules.

...I'm just kidding about someone reported you, but you really shouldn't say anything about this.

Well then don't tell them about all the free shirts and hats.  :D  I wish my X-12 would get here soon.  They didn't waste any time charging for it even though they didn't even have the helmets in hand.

+1. Still waiting too.

Unfortunately they seem too busy checking up on orders that appear less than honorable. An RC I know got a phone call to explain why he ordered 2 different sizes.

Awe shucks, I see it as advertising that MSF cares about the RCs.

First real ride with the helmet today, mid 50's so I had to close up the vents, it felt like a mini wind tunnel, so those work really well.  Wind noise was quite low and the aero dynamics are awesome.  I really do like this lid, but I dont know if I would've ever plunked down the MSRP.  Glad I ordered 2 of them, one will stay in the box untill I need a new helmet or I may make it my photo helmet, put a pair of cameras on it, one forward, one rear.
