MCL Rider Peg Lowering Kit
« on: January 07, 2014, 08:54:54 AM »
Unfortunately I do not like these. I installed them last night and I actually prefer the higher pegs. I scrape my boots with the stock pegs, riding to work was scarry with the lowering kit :)

The quality is good. Took only minutes to install. If I had a paypal account i'd prob just sell them on the forum.

Oh well, next i'll be installing my AST passenger peg lowering kit and 2" risers!

So I decided to try to make them work. Lowered the shifter a bit more on my lunch break and found that I now cannot get outta gear. Had to take the wife's car back to work. These are coming off tonight.

Well, I have seen other postings about peg lowering kits causing excessive scraping and clearance issues.  You are probably not the first to give up on the concept.

I doubt an inch would matter (since I lowered the whole BIKE an inch and scraping isn't an issue) but if you go much lower with the pegs, it is bound to be limiting.

Well now I'm more concerned that I cannot shift or rear brake normally even after adjustment. I will pull them off tonight. If I cannot get a refund I will post them for sale for cheap.

removed the MCL kit, cleaned everything, lubed with moly and put it back together. I then installed the AST 4" passenger drop kit. Very easy cheesy and looks clean. I'll have to put the wife on to test it out this week. I see that her boots may rub my ankles a little bit but that shouldn't be to bad.

Next project this week is the 2" riser.

The passenger lowering kit is nice. I have that and yes, the boot does rub a bit. If you want to lower the rider pegs, I used Murph's low pegs. Love them. I didn't touch the shifter or the brake. I have to move my foot a bit to shift down but it fits below the shifter and does not rest on top.

That sounds like what I might be interested in - can you post a photo (or two) ?
