Power Commander
« on: December 19, 2013, 12:59:14 PM »
Hey All,

I want to take off the secondary butterflies and install a Two Brothers slip on. Does anyone have an exact map for this? I think Fuel Moto has a map for this set up but with their Area P pipe. Not sure if the pipe makes that much of a difference. I have the pipe but still need to buy the PC5....and take out the butterflies. The bike's a 2012. Is there a consensus yet if this affects the traction control or anything else that's important?
Is there no way to just keep the butterflies in the open position?
I don't want to do the Ghul reflash due to warranty and downtime.

Thanks!

The reflash should be a qiuck turn-around. It should not affect the warranty unless it could be proven that the reflash caused the problem.

Two camps on the flies and the TC. One says it does affect TC and one says it doesn't matter. I guess that depends on whose arguement you like better.

I personally don't think you'll need a PC5 unless you install a catless full exhaust system that actually increases in/out volume of airflow.

Thank you.
Do you think I need a PC for removing the flies? I can see how the comp would make it run too lean but I can also see how it wouldn't be connected to the those butterflies at all.
Id rather not waste $300 but I have no issues spending $300 if the bike will lean out anywhere with out the PC.

This bike seems to run a bit rich stock so I don't think a piggyback fuel controller is necessary for a fly removal and slip-on muffler.

Needed?  No, IMO.  Affect the TC?  To a degree, yes.  Adding a can?  Not needed in any way, shape, or form.  You still have a series of cats to deal with.
