Bar pull back options.
« on: December 01, 2013, 09:52:28 AM »
Who are the companies that make bar risers or adapter to pull the bars back?
I already have 2" Heli-Bar risers saved from my old bike so I can either get adapters to move the bars back towards me or sell these and get something new. To me, the stock bar height is perfect but too far forward. I'm alright with 2" higher but really just want them closer to me.
This is the only thing I found but I think there are more options.

Looking to keep this in < $100 range. Not some $400 super adjustable set up.

Thank you!

For <$100 it looks like you have found the only option:

For $65 these Riser Adaptors will move the bars 1.25" closer to you. I had a home made version on my bike and they made a huge difference.

Murph's kits http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/

Murph's is selling Phil's Wedges (he doesn't sell pull-back risers or adapters)... and the Wedges don't really pull the bars back, but pull them together a bit.  I do highly recommend them, however.

This is the only thing I found but I think there are more options.

Nope, those are just normal risers.  But THESE would add pullback:

Yep, those would work on existing risers.  Of course, pulling back in any way without adding yet more height also means it will be lowering the grips (just plain geometry).

I had the same thought as you.  I wanted the bars closer, but not higher.  There is no solution for that without spending big money.  I ended up with a sargent seat that lets me sit closer to the tank.  I now do not need risers or more pull back and I have ridden 20,000 miles on this bike with several high mileage days.

Not $100 but options.

These and others should probably all be listed in the FAQ section.  But I just noticed there is no section for handlebars!
