The flies aren't a real problem. You should acquire a JIS screwdriver as it fits better than a Phillips. The screws are set with red locktite and can be problematic. Some folks have had no trouble with a standard Phillips and no trouble with the screws and others have broken screw heads or bent the shaft. It helps to heat an old screwdriver and hold it on the screw head to soften the locktite. Be careful not to drop a screw down the throat.
I think I'm about ready to lock this thread... Do I need to?
Thank you for the actual help. I don't even know where they are, or what they look like. I'm sure I can find something on youtube though.Have you no service manual?
As for the traction control, how do you know it will mess with it?
Have you no service manual?
It does disable half of the traction control system's ability to control the engine power by removing them. That system uses both the secondary butterflies AND the ignition timing. It would still work without the secondaries (that is proven), but not as well. As far as how not as "well", that hasn't been shown by scientific testing, but the theory of operation is clear.
He is correct that the "better" way is with the Guhl flash and it has other advantages too (far easier, slightly more HP, slightly better mix & fuel economy, customizable); although it will cost a lot more.
No, I do not. In fact, I had no idea that for extra money (on top of the $12,000 you spend on the dam bike) you can get a magic manual with all the "test answers". Stupid, but don't really care. Now I know. Why the hell do they not give you your own manual for working on your OWN motorcycle??? Does anybody else think this is complete bullshit??

There's probably some of that as well, but if that truly were the case then they wouldn't have a service manual for the public available at all. It costs money to publish that kind 'book' so they make an educated guess on how many need to be created. If I were in their shoes, I certainly wouldn't publish the same amount of books that I expected to sell with each vehicle. Doesn't make economic sense to me and if I were of the non-diy types, I wouldn't want to pay for a manual I would never use.
Nope. That's a bootleg PDF. There is no Kwak sanctioned digital copy. To each his own, though.
