5.75" raised Kawi badges
« on: July 24, 2013, 07:40:25 PM »
When I had my bodywork painted I got all new Kawi badges and had them painted in black (because Kawi doesn't make raised black badges...  >:( but that's another story)...

So anyways, on my Kawi 47 trunk there was a Kawi badge on the back of it that Kawi wouldn't sell me separately.

So I've been running the Kawi 47 trunk badgeless since being painted...

Finally found some on ebay the other week, only $9 shipped, took about 3 weeks to get but they arrived today!  :)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Gold-3D-Stickers-Badge-decals-KAWASAKI-Z1000-Z750-ZX-6R-10R-Ninja-2012-/171074609836?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d4d762ac

They measure about 5.75", which is perfect for that spot and I think about the same size as the Kawi badge that was in that spot.  :)

So now I'm just debating... do I attach it as I received it in gold? Or paint it black first like I intended and have it match all the other Kawi badges I have on this bodywork?  :-\

In case you lived in a cave with no internet for the past couple months... here's my other badges on the rest of the bodywork...

I think you better go with black, since the other badges are black. If you went with gold for all of them, then that would work.

I agree black would probably be best since all the other badges are black. I'm having trouble deciding though since I'm distracted by the silver color inside the axle sliders. They should be gold.

What model Ohlins are you running?  I checked their site and they only list new springs.  I didn't know they had full forks available for the c14.

Well... yes and no Paul.  :-\

I got it painted all up but for some reason the over-spray on the wax paper backing stuff is lifting up with the letter? My painter did those other badges and they sure made it look easy, I must be doing something wrong or that edge around the letters is just sharper or better quality with the oem badges...  ??? >:( :-\

What type of paint did you use?

X-Acto knife and patience may be the only solution.

I just used a Krylon with primer satin black spray paint, my only guess is maybe I put on too many coats, I did 4.  :-\
