Mind boggling, isn't it?

They're not hanging on the wall...  They're on a shelf.  And actually they look quite good as it's a very nice shelf as shelves go.  Not to large and not too small.  Just right.

They're going on this year, most likely when it gets a bit cooler for the weekend.  I want them on before I head out west to Ohio and Illinois and possibly just touch Michigan..  I'm planning that trip for early October.  My line of work keeps me busy most Saturdays and it appears to stay that way until the end of September.

That's all well and good but the real question is. Are the bars protecting that shelf adequately in case of a drop?

Most assuredly.  The shelf has not fallen even once whilst they've been there.  I guess that means I should put them on at some point.  I haven't been attacked by vampires or werewolves either so the shelf is doing it's job quite nicely.

That's some shelf you have there Jim! What brand is it and where did you buy it? I may have to get one soon.

Do you have a pic of this setup?  I think I'd like to run something similar, but I'm concerned about ground clearance in the corners.

It is a bit hard to see in this pic and I can't take another for you as I sold the bike but here you go.
No, really, she is the best and I can prove it...
