Kawasaki engine guards?

 If you look at the Kaw website for the C-14 they indicate engine guards as an available accessory?  Of course they are not listed.  Anyone have a guess why?

Only for sale in Europe and only for the 08/09.

FYI, they are made by Top Block, if you search that name on here you'll find ton's of info and pics.

Oh, that must be new that they "carry" it now!  They didn't before.  And dealing with overseas was scary- this is a huge improvement.

You might also be interested in the McEnterprises Canon Cages with small rears which, together, offer even more protection, with no fairing cutting, and are less expensive.  But they are much more "visible"/obtrusive.   Or the Top Blocks for front PLUS the small rears from McEnterprises.  Lots of choices.  Just search the board for the zillions of posts and photos of both.

Having choices is great :)

My guess is that they're idiots and have no conception on how to market accessories to riders of sport touring bikes.

They bought a market study off the internet that said most sport touring riders spend very little on accessories. This led to the obvious conclusion that selling accessories would be a bad idea and drain profits, unless you are interested in a green hat.

It's a shame.  I figure us sport touring riders are the most likely to splurge on factory swag/accessories.  Kawa could really make some GREEN if they had a full catalog of goodies to offer.

If you buy the Canyon Cages from MCE you also have a fantastic place to mount hiway pegs that actually work as well. Rivco makes a very nice set in black.

Do you have a pic of this setup?  I think I'd like to run something similar, but I'm concerned about ground clearance in the corners.

The Canyon Cages were actually designed to give riders more ground clearance than our Law Enforcement Guards. We've sold hundreds of sets and haven't had a single person comment on restricted lean angle. Everyone seems to be very happy with them. Highway pegs may change how the guard hits the ground but it really depends on where you choose to mount your pegs. However, the bike is able to lean VERY far before the guards hit (as you can see in the photo below) so it's very unlikely you'll have clearance issues.
