Angel Eye HID Projectors

I was searching around the web for Angel Eye's for the Connie, and found this ebay link. Angel Eye HID Projector

Has anyone installed these units or has heard from the company that produces this hack (360 autopart)? The unit looks good, but there isn't a lot of information other than this ebay link.

It is a no-name, so it is unlikely you will ever get any feedback on this... and probably no support later.  I would be extremely concerned about the light pattern from something like that, and also it is likely the entire sealed system would have to be opened to install such a thing (as pictured, there is no way that is going through the bulb holes).

    2X 55W High Quality Extra Slim HID Ballast
    2 X CCFL Angel Eye with igniter
    2  X CCFL Demon  Eye with igniter
    1 X Relay Wiring Harness ( connect to the battery and original high/low beam switch)

   This Custom headlight with Angel eye HID Projector pre-installed.

Still at $650.00 it's not something I'd try until I've heard someone's (w/deep pockets) report on it.
If only they had some with GREEN angel eyes.....then we would know all about
them and see a gazillion pictures as well.  ( back attcha ZG .. )

Yeah, it looks like a new, complete headlight assembly with projectors. Interesting offering but questionable as to how they did it.

If they used those projectors that mount where an H4 lamp normally goes, I would be wary of the case eventually breaking because the projector is a LOT more weight than the original bulb. If they mounted regular sized projectors inside the housing, did they do it adequately and are the adjustments still functional? And finally, there is the question of the quality of the projectors themselves. There are some projectors being offered that appear to be new types made in China; some are not too bad while others are not too good.

A set will show up sooner or later and maybe we can get some answers as well as a light output pattern against a wall or something.

Wow!  Now that I missed.  Pretty radical.  I guess they cloned the entire thing.  That also might help tremendously with the pattern and reliability.

Assuming your C14s are the same as the UK GTR1400 then you would only have that look while the ignition was on, but before you started the engine, once started the dip (low beam) lights are on.
Also over here it is illegal to show a red light on the front, and blue lights are for emergency vehicles only....

Would still be interesting to see how well the HID projectors work

I don't know anyone who has used that specific set but I do have a friend that ordered a custom one from www.sickhids.com and he loves his. It looks like their site is currently under construction but they'll make your headlights to order, which is cool. You can choose from an array of design options as well as colors and other things. Pretty neat...

Yes, all of that applies to the North American version, but it would still be fun. You could play devil and install an actual headlight switch to turn off the dipped beam.

They are the same, and you are correct

Same here, blue and green are illegal period, red on front is illegal, but people keep pushing it.

Those things are hideous IMO but its your bike..

$650 for a pair of projector lenses, HID bulbs and mounts and ballasts, and an entire "sealed" headlight assembly is actually not bad at all.  But if the quality is poor and/or the patterns suck, it isn't worth anything.

Anyway, take a hammer to your clear bubble and go to your dealer and find out what the part costs for just an empty assembly

Correct and incorrect.
In the UK you cannot show a red light from the front of the vehicle (not even emergency vehicles),...
but you can have a blue light so long as it does not flash and is not the main headlamp (most of the bluer HIDs are illegal!)
Green is verboten as they are afraid people will think it's a traffic light and drive at you. <LOL>
Yellow is also verboten as it is reserved for indicators (turn signals).
White is to indicate that the vehicle is moving towards you which is why car reversing lights are white (apart from improving visibility when reversing).
So, in fact the only colour that is legal is blue. You do see lots of trucks over here with blue lights around the cabs.

To my untrained eye, the patterns look pretty good, however I guess we don't know for sure that these light pattern
 photos are not from some expensive European car.
I sure hope someone here gets them and reports back to us. The seller has lots for sale for other bikes, Ducs and Gold Wings
etc. anybody see info about these on other forums??

Thanks for all the replies! It looks like this company is taking OEM head light Assembly's and custom fitting them with the HID projectors. It's similar to what the guys in my Mazda 3 club do to get Angel Eyes on their cars. you have to take off the whole assembly and back it in an oven at 250 degrees for 10 minutes to loosen the glue holding the clear front from the back. So, I feel this person or company is doing the same. Anyway, I'm not spending any cash on a company no one knows about or there is no information on.
I guess my quest for Angel Eye running lights is ongoing. I also agree that the beam pattern looks correct.

I think my Sick HIDs (www.sickhids.com) comment got lost in the shuffle. You should check them out if you haven't already, though. My buddy bought a set from them and they look pretty cool and he loves them. They make the lights to order and you can customize a bunch of different aspects of them which is pretty cool, I think. Not sure how much they are, though. Worth a look, at least.

Well, I don't remember exactly where you are, but here (VA) I have heard both reverse and back-up used interchangeably.  I call the "reverse lights" and always have (and it seems to be the preferred term).  So your "we" doesn't represent the USA...

And by the way- the carbonated beverages in cans, such as cola, are called "soda"....
