Burning boot on exhaust

Had three feet of snow on the roof back in the mid-90's.  Got worried and decided to push it off.  Got what I could off with a step ladder and decided I needed to go higher.  Had the great idea of taping sandpaper to my boots to keep me from slipping.  Got up on the roof, took a couple of steps, and said  !   Next thing I know I'm pulling an Al Bundy falling past a window with the family watching....thankfully into a snow bank.  In retrospect, I think the grit was not coarse enough.

Really, you put a heat shield on the bottom of your boot?  I'll need to see pictures of that.   I run an AP (CF) and I don't feel any heat through my boot.  But then again, I haven't paid that any attention.  Now you've got me paranoid (more than usual).

Yup swear to God it worked. Pokey even said I was nuts when I told him about the heat but I think it the way my boots are made mostly,  that's why I don't want to mod the bike in anyway. I currently wear JoeRocket big bang boots the y have a solid black rubber sole which transfers heat really well. Here's your pic you ask for...LOL

Hasn't been on long enough to give durability results also have not tried it in wet conditions yet either.

Do your exhaust link pipes run under the footpeg or something?
I have a 2Bros on mine and have never had this problem.
I've never touched the pipe with my size 16s although have dragged the toes on a few occasions.

That was obviously a before picture. We did about 170 miles Saturday and walked around a couple stores and it is dirty a scrached up a bit but nothing is peeling off yet. This a tape is really durable and very sticky. It was a freebie roll from work so im not out any money if its a total fail.

jwolffie clearly states "Black 2011" in his signature.  Conrad replied to jwolffie saying "Gen 1 bikes don't have a stock shield. "  I replied to that saying he has a gen 2.  You are now replying to me saying he has a gen 1...

But I see what happened.  Conrad was [more correctly] telling jwolffie "although you used the stock heat shield on your gen 2, the original poster has a gen 1 and gen 1 does not have a heat shield".

There.  Fixed.

All this confusion... I thought your reply was in regards to OP's bike!

It would also be slippery as hell.
I have enough problems with slip even using a soft rubber sole... that would be a nightmare.
