Big endorsment for my Baldwin GT saddle

I got my GT saddle back from Loren a couple of months ago, but I wanted to wait to post until I had taken a trip that really put some miles on it. Well, this past weekend was it and this new seat really delivers the pain free miles. I've been using a Spencer seat for a few years and though it is a big improvement over stock, it's won't get you this kind of comfort. In combination with my Canyon Cage mounted highway pegs, there was never a hot spot. Loren, thanks for the great work! I really love this seat!

Glad yours has worked out well. I am very unhappy with mine after this weekend. This was the first time I went out and put a solid two days on the bike, and it was so hard and uncomfortable I could not stand to be on the bike for more than 80 miles or so without getting off the bike.

I will try to contact them and see if there is anything they can do.

I've posted before about how much I love my Baldwin seat. Best seat I've ever had. A lot depends on your posture on the bike because it affects where you have pressure on the seat and your but. If you use the recommended posture(slightly forward of vertical and back arched to just past straight, as compared to slouching) I think the Baldwin is great. I can easily ride 1,000 mile days w/o discomfort. Just my opinion. Seats are like women, no right or wrong opinion, just the opinion of the individual.

You would really hate a Corbin then. Give the Baldwin a chance, he uses good stuff in his seats and they need to break in.

A used Connie sitting at Sloans has one on it and I sat on to to give it a feel.  I was wide, but not deep.  I would want to get rid of the passenger hump because it pushed me too far forward.

That is my only gripe, I will be finding a local upholstery guy to fix that. I know that Loren would do the mods for free, but shipping the darn seat there and back will cost darn near $100!!!!!  :o

It may soften some as it breaks in, but I think in my case the foot pegs need to be lowered to take a little pressure off my posterior. I'll start there and see what improvements I notice.

I would thing lowering the pegs would put more pressure on you posterior.  Especially with a wider seat.  I tend to ride with just behind my toes on the pegs and my foot up to keep my ankle straight and my knees planted in the tank.  That takes pressure off my butt.

In my case, I don't think so. Lowering the pegs will drop the angle of my hips/knee and redistribute some weight. It's worth mentioning that the discomfort became more noticeable after I added the AST 1" pull back risers. I like the reach to the bars now, but I think it put more weight and pressure onto the posterior.

I have lowered my pegs and I think it helps. However, it's even more comfortable when I use my highway pegs.
