Finally PR2s are coming.
« on: May 15, 2013, 05:39:41 PM »
I just toasted the Bridgestones in a record (for me) 4,000 miles. I can usually get 10,000 miles on the first det of tires on a new bike, but not this time. Maybe, because the rotors are so warped.
The tires are coming by the end of the week. Installed on Monday or Tuesday.
All new brakes (under warranty) towards the end of next week.
It'll be a tough week for me. I have been riding everyday in I don't know how long. I sure hope the next brake setup holds out better than the first.

I get a couple extra thousand miles on the PR2s. And they were only $288.00 shipped. I've hit almost 17,000 miles on these. I got between 10,000 and 14,000 on PR3s.

If any tires last you more than 5K,.....

Nevermind. ::)

Not everyone is riding on horrible roads, and/or cornering like crazy, and/or weighs 300 pounds, and/or under/overinflates, and/or rides two-up, and/or does burnouts....

I have 6200 miles now on my OEM tires (stones) and there is still considerable tread left.  I am actually surprised they have lasted this long.  They do have flat spots which increases the annoyance when cornering.  I remember on my previous bikes how they felt so much better after getting new tires (and also remember the high cost, too).

PR2's installed last week! Rolling good again. Never tried them before, and so I figured a set ought to be tried before jumping to PR3's. I'm averaging 6k miles per set - OEM and RoadSmart II's.

I just put Pirelli Angel GTs on my C14, stock rear was showing cord at 4600 miles, yeesh! I try not to take them down that far but hard to change tires mid trip.   These are supposed to get 30% better mileage than the ST's, which are pretty good tires.  I would love to get 8k out of a set of tires.

They aren't here yet and my ntires are getting way thinner. I will be close to 5,000 miles by the end of the week.
