OK, this is all in fun Buddy. I really wish Brian the best of luck in this endever. But I figure we can have some fun with it! I of course will have to vote for the KIPASS failure!!!!
50/50 odds at best. He wanted me to go with him but it looks too risky to me. And that cheap @($(#*& won't buy me rain gear either so I would have to ride inside the top box and not on the dash like I prefer.
Kirby
wheres he starting at and where is the finish.
Good luck Brian! I am working on a ride to submit to the IBA for a new cross country ride from Maryland to southern California. It is a themed ride following a route through a set line of states. I will be running it the second week of September along with my cousin attempting a SS3000 with the possibilities of a BBG or a SS2000Gold inside the base ride. The only thing that could hinder the run is the locating of a landmark in each of the states.
Will you be using a SPOT and if so will it be a public page?
When are you making this trip Brian and how long will you be in Tacoma for? I'm just south of there in Portland if you want to meet up for a beer or samich or something while you're in the Tacoma area...
Safe travels brother, hope you've got a good radar detector!
You are passing right through me backyard when you pass south of Chicago, looks like Rt. 80. I am just south of there. I am a MTF Tourers Assistant. If you need anything at all, trailer, tire changer, tools, whatever, don't hesitate to contact me at any time of day. I can usually get away from whatever I am doing to render assistance. John
A week or so. Not sure where I am going exactly (don't remember the exact address or even the suburb) but it is close to Ft. Lewis. I <should> be there from Wed. 8 June until the following weekend. Again, it depends on whether (weather ) I start on Monday or not. That is the plan but if it is going to be pouring in Chicago or west of there on Tues, I may delay leaving here until Tues. If KiPass acts up I may have to stop somewhere along the way and trade in my C-14 for an FJ.... I can't even say that in jest. What rational human would do something like that?
Yep, would be great to meet some left coast forum members. I will publish the address of my SPOT page so you can look in and see where I am as I travel. I will be offline while traveling but should be back on the forum and have access to e-mail after I arrive in WA. Let's make plans after I arrive so it won't put anybody out if I am late or <gasp> don't make it at all.
Thanks for the wish of luck- even Kirby is against me on this one. He voted in for the last choice!
Brian
In all seriousness, Brian, I hope you get there without any issues at all. Good luck and stay safe. We're pulling for you!
Like Hebrew and Arabic, the direction is right to left (it even looks funny when someone reads those languages and follows along with their fingers....); I am starting on the right coast (east coast) and ending up (hopefully) on the left coase (west coast).
