I've come close several times on buying an Area P slip on. But I'm still leery due to my experience with aftermarket exhaust on 2 other bikes. I could never get either one to run as well as with OEM exhaust.

Mine runs flawless. I do have a PCV also though.
Mine works just fine with the Area P slip on. No issues at all.
Yup that's why I will probably eventually do it. The other 2 bikes were carbureted. One was a Valkyrie with 6 carbs and changing jets on that was a bitch. But the other was a VTX with a single carb easy to work on. I tried many different jets. I even tried a dial-a-jet http://www.thunderproducts.com/dial_a_jet.htm product and still could never get it to run as well as stock. But I'm thinking FI might make the difference. Does yours do the decel popping? The VTX did it bad. I blocked the pair valves which improved it greatly but did not eliminate it. If I do it I will probably send my ECU back to Ghul for another re-flash.
I do get some minimal popping sometimes on closed throttle decel... Very minimal. I don't know if there is a map that completely rids it, but its soooo smooth way down low in the rpms in any gear that i'll take the minor popping here and there for the perfection everywhere else.I do love the popping sound when decelerating: I would never attempt in any way to get rid of them!

I am considering a slip on and a Guhl reflash. I want the slip on for weight loss and power gain. I do NOT want louder. If I want loud, I wil ride my FZ1 with a Yosh CF, it makes heavenly sounds. AreaP shows very nice dyno charts. It's very expensive!!
Is it a bolt on? I.E, no remapping required? What about the combination of the Guhl and the AreaP?

The reflash or the noisy muffler replacement?
concur do it Max
I vote for both!
