ProjektD Windshield
« on: February 18, 2013, 08:23:01 PM »

Has anyone tried or seen the ProjektD Windshield? Interesting concept. It's wider at the hands and then has a kick up lip to the top. My concern is that if the measurements on their website are correct, it's huge and I prefer to look over the top of the shield.

Doesn't look that huge to me... the comparison diagram is to the older gen 1 C-14, which had a much smaller shield than the gen2, of which I am familiar.  It is likely still larger, but I am guess not by a whole lot.

It looks like a nice shield, go for it Dan and let us know if it works as good as it looks.

Cool idea, kind of has the air wings built in. Also I'm of big fan of the flip up on the top of wind shields. Had a straight Memphis Shields on my Valkyrie then got a used OEM shield off a VTX 1800 that had the flip up on top. Night and day difference. My CB Ultra tour works great but if I was in the market I would take a long look at this one.

I have had the ProjektD on my 09 for about a year and a half. My criteria at the time was that I wanted something larger than the stock, but not huge, I wanted it tinted, and I liked the lip at the top of the shield. The ProjektD fit my list, the price was right, and I was ordering helmet locks and a few other things from them as well. Their shipping can be a little on the pricy side, but it is coming from Asia so I would expect it to be a little more. I will say that both times I have ordered from them, the shipment has arrived MUCH faster than I would have expected considering the origin.
Installation is straightforward, no surprises there. I am not really sure how to rate its performance..... compared to the stock windshield, it is a great improvement. At full down I get the wind in my face and at full up, it get real quiet behind it. I will say that at full up and my height, the lip at the top is right in my field of view and causes distortion. I can lean down just a tad and resolve it so it isn't a big deal to me. Honestly, it has been on there so long I really don't remember what the stock shield was like and I have nothing else to compare it to. If you have any questions that I can answer for you, please ask away...
