If they are getting the ECU I think it's safe to assume they have cracked the KIPASS code?  Maybe a certain someone will trade in a certain twin piped bike and grace us with his company?

Today is my first day with time to even fiddle with the bike.  I got a service manual finally, and they say the same thing as a couple here - just take the seat off, unplug the unit and pull it out.  Another dumb question - how do you get the seat off without a key?  Is there something up in there to hook onto to pull the catch?   :P

Officially, you don't.  Or you pick the lock.  But I am sure there are some secret tricks (of which I do not know).
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

You haven't been in the club long enough, Max.   Only the early adopters know those tricks.

Without going back through the thread, is the stovepipe key still in the ignition, and if so what position?

My guess is yes and not in the FSS position. Hence the need for another way to remove the seat.

Hey!  You guys need to rip me, not Mr. Pepsi!  Unfortunately it is not in the FSS.  I can turn the handle bars, but not remove the stovepipe.
