All the firearms makers should leave NY period. Leave. Remington, Kimber, Henry, all of them, just pick up and leave.  As I said elsewhere, well, it is NY, what do you expect.

I heard the law also included - if you had any magazines that held over 7 rds you had 1 year to sell them/get them out of the state.  Oh if I lived there, which I wouldn't have, I would have quit my job today and loaded up the truck.

Naw you can still have a 33 round mag for your Glock you just can't put more than 7 in it or you can be charged with a crime ::)

I 'm from western NY ( 28 years ago)   I wanted to buy a summer home on the niagara river,  yearly real estate tax over $6,000 for a $200,000 shack :o

You should try NJ.  Know a lady that had a condo.  Paid around 400k, last year was worth about 240k.  She paid I think around 13k in taxes.

Uh, nope.  I just looked it up again.  You can have a 10 round mag with no more than 7 rounds in it.  High cap mags are banned, no exemption for previously owned/manufactured.  Now I admit, this is as reported by the lamestream media.  Have not seen the actual law yet.
Coming soon to a liberal state/city/neighborhood near you.

Oregon Sheriff stands up for our rights:

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Ore-sheriff-to-Biden-I-wont-enforce-any-new-gun-laws-187055571.html

Apparently from what I read this morning, several other sheriffs in several different states and towns also saying the same thing.

I haven't found the text of the law yet, but I've seen that reported in several places.   :o

If I put a pistol grip stock on my Ruger 10/22, it will now be labeled as an "assault weapon", with a high capacity magazine.  (Any 1 "military" feature on a firearm now makes it an "assault weapon".)

I've got to check if there is an exemption for law enforcement officers in the new ban.  If so, I may be able to take advantage of this and pick up some semi-auto pistols at decent prices over the next year.  (Good for my budget, even if I believe it is a terrible thing for citizens of this state.)

Yeah, but my Mini-14 with the Butler Creek synthetic "regular" stock is OK, no mention that it fires the same round as the AR-15.  It's all about "perception".  Maybe I'll start my own business making non-pistol grip stocks for AR's.

As long as you only have a 7-round magazine.

There are companies making non-pistol grip stocks for ARs already, to make them legal for California.  If they have stock, I bet it's going through the roof today.

Excellent!  I'm sure the bullet coming out of the pink rifle is much less deadly than the bullet coming out of the black rifle.  Maybe I'll paint my .44 pink, that'll make it safe! ;D

They're following Canada's lead...if it looks dangerous or scary it must be, therefore it must be banned.
Meanwhile all the criminals who are concerned about staying legal are trading their semi's for Henry lever 38's so they can stuff them with a dozen rounds. (and the law abiding gun owners are busy painting their guns pink)

good luck guys

And more insanity.............I never go to "the Clink" as we call it, for many many reasons, but this just adds another reason to NEVER set foot there:

They want to ban concealed carry by off-duty cops.  How many off-duty cops are involved in unlawful shootings?

I thought about the 7 rnd. magazine limit. Competitions and future sales. In highpower matches, we use 2 magazines, 1 loaded with 8 and the other loaded with 2, this was based on the M-1 Garand but originally for the 1903 Springfield bolt rifle loaded with stripper clips. 7 rnd magazines means no highpower rifle matches can technically happen in NY as the rules are now written. And, most importantly, no M-1 Garands can be owned or sold to anyone living in NY from the CMP as they hold 8 rnds. Of course it also applies to new pistols too. Sounds like they were just waiting for an incident to happen because the Gov'y usually works VERY slowly. HMMM, using the deaths of innocent children to further a political agenda by passing draconian laws none of which would have prevented the tragedy in CT. Not sure about anybody here but that disgusts me.
