Has anyone successfully registered additional keys using the method supplied in the service manual section 1-24 (Page 34)?
It states that you put an existing registered FOB near the steering lock, press key knob until it states "Transponder registration No. 1 OK", then repeat with the new key fob until it indicates the turn key symbol. You then turn the knob off to on and it should register "ECU Registration OK" an revert to normal operation.
Page 35 of the manual says that replacing individual Kipass FOB Key or Transponder parts only require this procedure. It does say that for other procedures, you have to use the KDS3 software.
The reason I ask is I am picking up two credit card (non fob) keys as backups to my newly acquired Concours and would like to avoid the time and money to pay the vendor to do it. Seems to me the manual is straight forward.
I looked around but it doesn't appear self registering new keys has been discussed on this forum.
