Well i finally got my fuse box from Eastern Beaver . Looks pretty straight for ward for install I hope. It may be to short but I'll find out . Anyways my ? is can I use one of the 2 spare? wires under the seat as my switched wire Hookup? They are located near the tail area and not hooked to anything .
Second ? also . I bought a set of the bullet lights and was planning on hooking into the fuse box . Since the fusebox itself will be switched do I need to still hookup the lights wiring to a switched wire still? I hope this makes sense , thanks

Yes, well..... the (+) one. You can also use the (-) one, but IMHO it may be better to pull the (-) straight from the battery like you're doing for the un-switched (+).

No need to hook the lights up anywhere else than to a switched output of the EB Fuse Box.

If you are going to use the OEM accessory wires then you don't need a fuse box because those wires are already fused. The idea of a fuse box is that you connect directly to the battery and build your own circuits.

You don't NEED to hook it up to a switched wire, but it is nice to be able to turn them on/off via another switch while the bike is running.  I mounted a switch in a small box and put it under the left handgrip.  I can activate it with my left thumb without need to move my hand.

I do plan on adding more outlets to the bike for my heated vest and such. Also the bullet light wiring has an off/on switch. I want to use accessory wires? for switched circuit as I don't like the idea of tying into the wiring harness of the bike with one of those posilock taps. I've mounted the lights and plan on trying to wire things up this weekend. Will be nice to have it done along with the HID;s I already did. Thanks for the info

If you mean to attach the positive one of the two spare wires (the female connector Black wire) to the light blue wire (Labeled "Switching Wire 16 AWG") shown below:



Then YES, otherwise probably not.

...and remember if you do, and then accidentally blow the accessory fuse by plugging something too big (air pump etc.) into the
dash socket, then there will be several things that do not work and it will seem like a catastrophic electrical problem when in reality it's a just blown accessory fuse.

I also have an Eastern Beaver fuse box. Where and how did you end up mounting it?  Do you have any pics?  I could use some ideas.

I don't think the EB is any better than the Fuzeblock - I just happen to have one left over from when I had a V-Strom.  I had never seen the Fuzeblock before I started visiting the Concours forums, but it looks like I might would like it better since it has the relay built in.  If I were to choose right now, I would probably go with the Fuzeblock.

But since I already have the EB, I will be looking for a place to install that.  I am really curious as to where people are hooking into the switched power source to power the relay.  And where they are mounting the fuse blocks.

I never mounted mine. I decided I wanted it under the seat and the harness I had would not reach. I'm gonna order an extra long harness and cut and splice to fit. Where did you get that USB stevewfl. That looks like a nice setup. Want to look into that myself
