Anyone put "Drag bars" or raised clip-ons on their C-14?

I would think  'drag' bars would be difficult to install.  I'm sure there are drag bars in DC  (14th street?) and in Baltimore but they would be a little big to put on the bike and even if you could do it I wouldn't.

Your best bet is the LSL setup Murph sells. You can then change to whatever shape tube bar you think will fit. Not cheap.

Is your goal to go more sport and less tour on this sporttour bike?  If so that is the opposite of most folks that change from the stock arrangement.  If you want to go that direction you could get someone to make up some shorter risers for the stock bars if you know a machinest.

Nice ape Hangers!

I came from a sportbike background and prefer a bit more forward lean that the stock bars give me. I tried having them cut 1 inch and welded - looks crappy and still not quite where I want it.

So been looking at other bikes that have two billet rizers and a flat tubular bar or some web sites have clip-on bars that mount to the fork tubes and have the bars raised a bit (I've seen up to 4 inches but they look goofy). Trying to find somthing simple and clean looking that doesnt set me back $700.

Machine shop or Murphs might be the only way to go but I thought I'd put it out there to see

I've always seen those intakes pointed forward.  That looks kinda strange like that.  Doesn't ZG's bike have ape hangers on it?  Extended bars on risers so he must be at least 4 inches higher than stock.

Personally, I love the look of shoulder height fat apes on a cruiser.  I test rode a Victory Highball and it was an experience for sure.

If you are tall enough, raising the seat would help provide more forward lean.  Another option might be those precision engineering bars like ZG has.  Since they are two piece to allow for more rise you could possibly have them just cut a pair shorter so there should be no additional cost.

Thanks Bro I will check out the Precision Engineering stuff....functionally they look like they might work but....fugly in the eye of this beholder and $700 is a bit steep for my working slob budget....ouch!

BTW: I am short 5'8" but my arms are long (be nice everyone) ....  my last ride was a 89 Katana 1100 and the bar to peg to seat position was perfect for me....trying to get close to that position.

This describes the LSL kit that Murph's sells. As mentioned earlier it allows you to use whatever profile of tubular bar that you want. I am tempted by this, but not enough to spend that kind of money. Cutting the stock bars down was a cheap means to an end.

Have you looked to see if any of Kawasaki's other sporty bikes have the same hole pattern as the Concours?  The C10, Ninja 250, Ninja 300.  Or if the tubes are the same and the concours can tolerate having them slid up in the triples you could look at clip ons from the Ninja 1000.

Or changing out the top triple with something from a compatible bike with different handlebar configurations.

I like the sportiness of the Concours but don't like the reach to the bars.  There is no solution out there for me either because I don't want them higher.  I sit up almost touching the tank and have started building my muscles and it is more comfortable.  The Sprint ST fit me perfectly, but I didn't want to deal with the chain.
