New here. Is there a place to download 2009 c14 owners manual, shop manual?

My Bolt, Bank sensor is broken off left peg. Need comments, suggestions on this. OK to do nothing or what. Doubt I will ever go  that low on either side.

To put battery tender connections onto battery, gain access to battery, do I go in through service entrance on right side? If not, how?

Lastly, going to add risers. Any difference between Murph's and genmar? Don't want to mess with any cable or hose situation.

It may make better sense to create separate posts for your questions as it would benefit others in a search.  The riser question should be posed in the C14 Accessories board.

Here's the manual from an '08, it's the same for the '09

You can ride just fine without the feeler on the bottom of the peg.

For the battery, yes, the right side. There are two access panels that have to be removed. The first is plastic, it only has one bolt to remove but there's a snap in connector holding it in after you get the bolt out. The snap connector is behind the lower right corner, get your finger tips under that area and pull straight out. 

The second panel is metal and once you get the plastic panel off you'll see the whole thing. Be VERY careful removing the bolts on this thing. LOTS of guys have stripped the heads of the bolts since they seem to be made from chocolate. Once you get this panel off you should be looking at the battery. The positive terminal should be facing out. Some dealers installed the battery backwards, it's possible since the battery wires are long enough.

Once I remove the chocolate screws another panel comes off. Does the battery slide out? I need to attach battery tender leads to neg and positive. I think there is already a connection to the battery, wire connection to electric jacket but it is not same as tender connection.

PS: think I will take the chocolate screws to hardware store and find hex head screw replacements.

The battery has a holder that needs to be removed, two bolts if I remember right. Then one electrical connector below the battery and the rubber strap that holds the battery. Then you can slide the battery out and remove the battery cables.

You can get an SAE to Coax adapter for about $6 so you can connect your tender via the jacket liner connector.

Thanks everyone. You answered all the newby's questions today. Guess I will either try to buy a shop manual or one of the bike manual from the private publisher. Can't Remember their names right now.
