The extended warranty is definitly worth the money in my opinion.  I have a 2008 and just had a Tire Pressure Sensor replaced and this week I am having the 2 front Brake Rotors replaced all under warranty.  These are fairly common failures on the bike.  The Rotors are abt $350 each and the TP Sensors are abt $150. I just measured the thickness  of my rear rotor and it seems to be at its serviceable limit so I am going to try to get them to replace that to.  That would be $1050 in Rotors alone.  The Battery life in the sensors is only rated for 5 yrs and is non replaceable, so a new sensor is required.  The warrenty is definitly going to pay for itself.

You don't need to buy the extended warranty when you purchase the bike.  You can wait till just before the original 3 year warranty is about to expire to get it, just don't let the warranty expire.  This way if you decide the bike is not for you, you did not waste your money.  The extended warranty can be had for abt $350.00 from the dealers listed in the stickys.

Good choice on your upcoming C14 purchase!

You missed a group sale for the GTPP 36 month warranty - $319.00
My dealer wanted $660.00 for the same plan. Check the "Accessories ans Mods" section.  Yes you can purchase an extended warranty anytime during the first 36 months. Maybe another group buy will appear next year or so.

Give Pete a call at Ultimate Cycle and ask what he charges for the 36 month GTPP.  His regular price might still beat out your dealers price.

Yes, it's worth it. I bought the extended, twice. My '08 is warranted till 2018. The difference between this extended warranty and others is that this is NOT a third party warranty. This comes from Kawasaki and is basically an extension of your original warranty.

Did you read my post? This is NOT a third party warranty and as such there is only one company that sells this warranty, Kawasaki. It's called the Kawasaki GTPP (good times protection plan)

What private company and why would you do that? Look at the sticky for Kawasaki's GTPP.

+2...it doesn't make any sense to buy other than Kwak.  Three something for three years and renewal rights + unlimited mileage?  What's not to like?

Hey I'm sold, I like it all. That's why I ask the questions, to have more experienced people tell me the correct way to do it.

This is a new one for me.  I didn't realize you could buy the extended warranty more than once.  I bought the extended warranty and my 08 is good until 2015.  Another extension just might be worthwhile.  Did you need to buy it before the first warranty ran out?  If so, I'm SOL.

Love the bike and expect to surpass 100k miles before I'm done with it.  Only 43k+ right now though.

I'm not 100% sure on that. I know that I did buy my 2nd extension before the original warranty was up. That info might be in the thread linked above. If not, give Pete a call or e-mail.

Maybe. Perhaps Concorsees?

Now you can see why herds of people tend to buy BMW's- the plural is easier- BMW's.

Definitely a no brainer.  I bought it in July when it was something like $319.  My warranty was expiring on Aug 28th.  I have never bought an extended warranty but right before the initial warranty ran out it had an oil leak coming from the cam sensor.  It would have been $250 had it not been covered so I decided right there it was a good purchase.
