- but you really need to read up more about this bike.

- its a v.1 , and current owners are BMW's beta testers. Its troubles , of which the list is long and varied , can be very frustrating and result in a tow home.

- maybe then only go ahead and make a decision.

- imho : wait for v.2

Appreciate the advice. I've got my concerns for sure. Nearly everyone I've seen says that even with the issues, it's the best sport touring bike available.  You'd think a 25k and up bike wouldn't have these sorts of issues. If I did get one, and I probably will it'll be a 2013 version. Hopefully BMW will have quietly fixed some of these problems based on feedback.

The black or a slightly lighter black thing seems pretty spot on. I don't understand the reasoning for this. I like black too,but an option to it would have been nice.
