I've already got the F2P on both my bikes, for both my garages. Otherwise I might be looking at OP's device. Gotta admit, though, F2P is pretty cool. Suppose to be able to even open door with your cell phone. Haven't tried that yet, tho.

If it will work on an '08 I would be in for one. If it could be tied to the flash to pass switch instead for the high-beam switch that would be even better.

Unfortunately I don't have access to an '08 or '09 to see if the high beam relay is in the same location as the '10+. Maybe someone can chime in here? Or FSR, if you could pop off the top glove box and snap a few pictures of what under there I could let you know if it will work.

Also, this works off the flash-to-pass or the high beam switch since it is detecting two On-Off changes of the high beam lights.

I am going to reply to my own question... I pulled the FSM for the 08-09 and it looks like the relay is located on the left side of the tank instead of the top. It should work just fine if you were to mount the garage door opener on the left side of the bike (where the glove box on the '10+ is) instead of the right side.

This shows the headlight relays (number 26).

The pinout is the same as on the '10+ meaning my harness will plug in just fine and it would just be a matter of figuring out which one the high beam relay is. Plugging it into the wrong one won't hurt it, it just won't work if you plug it into the low-beam relay.

We could probably work out a discount if you were willing to take pictures of your install for me.

I currently have a modulator unit on my C-14. Will this work in conjunction with the modulator? If so, I'm "IN!"

Thanks!

Bill

Great! I am assembling 2 units now and they should be done some time next week. I want to finish building them and then test them. Once that is done I will let you know.

Bill,

I never even considered a modulator being on the circuit. Do you happen to know the make and model of your modulator? I will look into this but my initial reaction is that it probably won't work. I will pull the bike schematics tonight and see what I can come up with.

Not sure of the model - but it is the Kuryakyn Kisan pathBlazer for the C14. Thanks!

Great! I was able to look at how that system hooks up and I will double check myself tonight when I am near my bike again, but it looks like the opener WILL work for that particular modulator.

Ok guys, I am back from my travels for the long weekend and I just wanted to update. So far I have 3 people on board:

1. Jaxter
2. fsr402
3. backoutonthehighway

I finished building and testing the first "production" right before I left Thursday and will be contacting Jaxter to arrange shipment of that one. The next two should be ready by the middle of next week so I will be contacting fsr and backout to get you guys squared away.

If anyone else is interested in one, please let me know. Hopefully these first three will be received well!

Now I'm wondering if this would also work on my wife's '09 Versys. May have to try that too.

I just looked through the factory service manual I had for a Versys and it looks like they use a relay box. The unit would work, but the hookup would be different. You could either use wire taps, or you would make an inline harness that hooks directly to the headlights. PM and we can talk through some options.
