Our neighbour Norway is totaly different.  By far the best motorcycle roads in northern europe.
Oh, never mind, you said Northern EU ;) I was gonna say Italian alps or Bavaria had the best ;)

Another thing to consider before going there: The country is full of norweigans......

I noticed that when I was there in August, mostly. A LOT of Korean and Chineese at the hotel we stayed at (Hotel Lindstroem in Laerdal), but the second one was a photographers dream (Hotel Utsikten in Geiranger).

Yer right though, traffic did NOT break the speed limit, in towns... ;) Had to go up to Trondheim for a tire, it killed me to be riding so slow.... in town  ::)

I wonder how Norway would calculate a speeding fine for someone from USA? "Honest officer, I'm on welfare, I have no income".

Roads in Sweden were nice, though I only rode them to the bridge to DK. Keep in mind, we in USA have nothing like you do in EU. Everything is nice over there :)

Oh, welcome to the nut house :)

The grass is allways greener on the other side. I have to say the same: We in Europe have nothing like you have in USA. everything is awesome over there  :)
I can't appreciate my near surroundings cause I see it every day.
My favorite place on earth is the southwest US. Can't get enough of the totaly amazing nature and greatness you have in that region. It's a photgraphers wet dream. Been to the area around Las Vegas- Lake Powell - Moab 3 times (last time 1 month ago) and my bigges wish for my 50 birthday next summer is to return and show the area to my wife. (she was with me on the first 10 days of the trip SFO- bonneville - Reno - SFO, but I ditched her for my 5 highschool budies before going to Vegas  :)    )

Here's pictures of my 2 running rides.
C-14 2013, and ZRX1100 1998.
GTR1400 -13 black (Thunder Nugget)
ZRX 1100 -98 Vivid orange/silver/Black
ZRX 1200 -02 Colour: TBD
Yamaha WR250F -02 Hurricane Yellow

After surviving highway 50 from Carson city to Baker NV: Nooo, nothing near what you have in US. The main highways in sweden aren't straight. they follow the landscape but aren't very inspiring or scenic (to much forrests to be scenic). I can't see any need for cruise control over here. The twisties around Stockholm where I live are fun. But, they are narrow,  poorly paved and have generaly bad visibility due to surrounding forrests (we have a lot of trees....).
Our neighbour Norway is totaly different.  By far the best motorcycle roads in northern europe. Amazing sceneries. BUT it comes with a pricetag. Its EXPENSIVE in Norway, and speeding tickets are the main source of income to the Norweigan state (not oil   ;)) Another thing to consider before going there: The country is full of norweigans......
If you like straight road, and want to visit Scandinavia: Try Finland. They got straaaaaaight road. But Finland are even worse when it comes to speeding tickets. A bussinesman there got a speeding fine of $130.000, driving 48 mph on a 30 mph road. :(

Welcome!

Can't see the forest for the trees eh?
