Throttle Tamer and Heated Grips on '09 Connie
« on: October 31, 2011, 06:38:11 PM »
Well finally had a a couple hours to replace throttle tube with Throttle TaMER, and install some heated grips and new grips.  Here are some photos if anyone is interested:

Throttle tamer:  installed super quick...took a couple minutes to readust the throttle cables, but not too difficult.
Heated grips: pretty simple as well...went like clock work.  Hot without gloves, but don't penetrate my T-5 gloves to well....lets see how they hold up in super cold weather.

New Throttle Tamer Installedanother Pic of Throttle Tamer
Hole Drilled for switch (13/16")These cables were run months ago and coiled up waiting
Extra cables run to Fuze-Block coiled and readySwitch installed

I want to install the Throttlemaster on my 2010 with factory heated grips but am afraid to try to remove the stock grips for the rework for fear of damaging the stock heating elements...

Can they be safely removed using an air compressor??

Advise....

Why would you have to remove the grips to install the TM?

They are talking about replacing the throttle tube with a throttle master tube not replacing the bar ends with a throttle meister.  There is your difference.

Op installed a Throttle Tamer throttle tube. If Ninja is just wanting to install TM it should be done by just rolling about 1" of the grip inboard, as per instructions, to allow for installation.

Yes. I noticed a slight difference in the on/off throttle engagement but the biggest thing I noticed was the smoothness of the actual turning of the throttle tube. The bushings eliminate metal to metal contact and the associated drag.
