Also make sure the front brake switch is disengaging. Especially if you have aftermarket brake/clutch levers (from China). I had a problem with the brake lever mechanism not allowing the plunger to come out far enough to disengage the switch.
It turned out to be caused from the lack of lube in the mechanism of the brake lever and the resulting mild seizure of 2 parts.
When you pull on the front brake lever and release it there should be an audible click both ways when the switch is activated and deactivated. You will be able to do this with the bike just sitting and not running.
