41.5 amps @ 14 volts @ 5K RPM

Works out to be 581 watts, of which the user can slurp up (technical term) about 300 watts, maybe closer to 350.

By the way, watching the system drop in voltage as I have many times as the engine RPMs decrease, I have found that the alternator hits peak output right around 2,400 RPM- the voltage up to that point rises with engine speed while after that point it does not change as long as the load remains the same (indicating no more power output).

Does anyone know what the alternator (or whatever it's called on a motorcycle :-)  output is rated at on the 2012 C14?

That pretty much is the 1st order limitation.

Only if I had a 'way back' machine- I believe my light was burned out at first inspection in 2009, long before that was posted. Trust me Jim, I looked everywhere and crossing that little fella' to a real bulb number (the four digit standard) was elusive.

Hey, I'll even throw in photos for the same low price. Maybe Kirby will help but it's gonna' be a while 'cause I am still hard at work on the Virginia Jim memorial C-14 ‘adjuster’ (read: corrector).

Brian

You know, Brian, I think you should outline that method.  I'd be interested in seeing it.
