Sorry if this has been covered, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know when Kawasaki announces the 2013 models? I'm looking to buy real soon and don't know if I should jump on a 2012 or wait to see what they got for 2013. I don't want to have buyers remorse if the 2013 is a totally different model and is something I just gotta have. Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.

I think you have a ways to wait, still. However, I have heard absolutely zero rumors about a redesign for 2013.
-
The only thing that I've heard about is possibly cruise control. I can live without that because I've never had it on previous bikes and wouldn't know what I'm missing.
-
I have not heard any rumors about cruise control but a lot of us think it should be included on this machine. Usually getting to the twisties means some slab work.
-
I don't think anything is announced until about October normally about the upcoming models
-
I heard they were bumping up the engine size, adding cruise control, adjustable handle bars, new exhaust, adjustable pegs, unlinking the front and back brakes, and...........dropping the price by $3k.

You forgot HID lighting, LED turn signals with front running-lights mode, a real horn, integrated color GPS/music, and adjusting the frame to accommodate a several inch adjustable heated seat.
-
Sure did. Thanks. Oh, and adjustable ride height with a touch of a button....cup holders as well.
-
that's a real bummer. I was hoping for a tilt lock mechanism like the Piaggio MP3... :'(

2014
-
What about auto turn signals that anticipate your next turn and come on automatically and then self cancel.

Built in shiatsu massager?
-
Kawi green color for the US model and ZX14R engine... 8)

Built in shiatsu massager?
Is that the happy ending massage?
Oh wait, 2014.
-
I'm glad someone finally understands.
-
I'm hoping for the heated gastank option that works best when its over 100 degrees.
-
Air conditioning is coming too.
-
You guys need to quit joking around. Of course there is no info on a 2013 C14.
You need to start searching for 2013 C15! :stirpot:
-

They discontinued that option after the 2008 and 2009 Model years.
-
I think your right. I specifically ordered the ball heater on my 08. I ran out of money and did not get the off switch, though. I remember thinking how nice this heat would be and looking forward to 45 degree temps. After all, the hot tank woudl keep me warm.....
First cool day and the motor temp barely registered. The tank may have been colder than 45.
-
Typical of Kwak STs. The C10 was like that as well.
-
I just checked back in and got excited that there were so many replies. I was thinking (before I clicked) there must be some good info! Now I see you guys are just full of Poo Poo! I think I'm going to like this forum! I just need to get the damn bike now!! :o
-
Hard to make changes to a pretty much new re-design, I am sure more will come "and a price increase" in a few years.
-
If your luck is like mine, when I bought my '09 the salesman said "if history is any indication (c10) there won't be any redesign for at least 20 years." ::)

And that "is" exactly my luck. :'(

If the 2013/2014 has cruise control, wouldn't it be logical that the part would retrofit onto my 2011? :o

I sure hope so! It would be so nice to be able to get a factory plug-n-play add on cruse control.
-
The hard parts should fit but the programming may be in the ECU.

Logic in motorcycle design? :o

Exactly what I was going to say. It would be highly probable that they would use the ECU as the brain. Reprogramming an old one might not be possible. Swapping the ECU would be very expensive.

Hey it would be nice if we just had the 2013 (as if ::) ) factory CC switches and buttons to put on our older C14s
bikes to integrate with the Rostra.

I am just glad they are finally going to include a powered reverse. I am tired of pushing such a heavy bike backwards, especially on somewhat slippery surfaces. It seems though that powering the bike backwards will be speed- limited to 25 MPH or 40 KPH, whichever comes first. I wonder how long it will be before a bypass for that limit is found?

You know sometimes you bat the ball out into the field and it just lays there on the ground..... ;D

True enough. Hey, maybe the next one will engage somebody and remain in play for a while....? In the olden' days just using the <k-word> would guarantee some kind of a hubbub but that seems to be fading now too.
;D

Ever since one guy bought a FJR the K word has not generated much notice. :o

Do you guys want a motorcycle or a slave?
Massages, turn signals that operate themselves,...... Cheesh! ;-)
Yer a bunch of lazy assed farkle junkies. ;D
For me they can drop the linked brakes (or include an off switch), fix the damned OEM seat (slope and sticky cover material) and fit PR3s as standard. Front wheel bearings that last longer than 25k would also be appreciated.
Chances are that what we will get will be a colour change.
As for the C10, they were changed between 86 & 87 (taller bars, taller screen), 89 & 90 (different camchain tensioner and the fairing scoops were molded in and changed position slightly), 93 & 94 (wheels, forks, front brakes, instruments, saddle, taller bars, another new camchain tensioner), 96 & 98 (camchain tensioner again). Somewhere in there they changed the switchgear to add push to cancel turn-signals, changed the sidebags finish (earlier ones were smooth, later matt finish), and many other minor changes.
