Is this a spambot?
Yes...that same name replied to a thread in another Kawasaki forum a few days ago.
-
Checking it out..and lets leave it at that for now.

The post that brought this thread back (from 3 1/2 years ago!) had odd wording and it looked like it may not have been a human who wrote it- perhaps spam generated by another computer..... hence the word 'spambot' which means a robot (bot) that generates useless text (spam) and puts same on forums, group pages, etc.
And administrator will track down its sending location and determine if it is likely a human or not and if not, terminate the account.

Thanks... I can stop scratching my head now, although according to your explanation, there are quite a few of us here that fit the description sometimes ;D
-
True, but at least we are 'real people' behaving badly..... which somehow is more comforting than machinery or automatons behaving badly..... I think. Maybe. ;)
A year or two ago a gent. popped up claiming he was having some unusual trouble with a C-14 and he was in Mexico on vacation. Some of us thought 'him' a troll, others thought he was a real human in a real situation. I happened to be in the second group in that case so I tried to help the guy out such as I could from far away. Anyway, he did post back that he got to some level of function and was on his way- I wished him the best of luck, assuming 'he' was a real person and this 'Mexico' was a real place.

What would be the benefit of spambotting? I don't get why someone would set a computer to do that?

Because he/she can.

I'm waiting for the fembots, myself.
-
But.... but.... how long 'ya gonna' wait Jim?
:rotflmao:
And by the way, I do not think 'fembot' is P.C. . I believe the more correct expression would be 'Gyno- bots'. ;)
Brian

Til the Kaws come home.
-
I prefer the fembots....does it make you horny baby? Shagalicious....
Or frank zappa's fembots / penguins in bondage....?
Either are good.... damn, gonna have to do an extended Mr. Classic weekend post now....

I'll take a set...

On the issue of spambots it looks like two have registered on my mileage log site: http://www.wfr-ridersclub.com/miles/miles.asp (http://www.wfr-ridersclub.com/miles/miles.asp) with waht look like randomly generated user names.
At least I speculate they are bots because they are listing zero miles. The funny thing is the bike clubs they claim to be with.

Way OFFTOPIC: Are those the models from Robert Palmer's 'Simply Irresistible'? I remember that and the 'Addicted to love' videos. And now I am remembering them all over again :-) I am old and freely admit I am not keeping up with what the current trends are but I have to say, I think a lot of today's artists, especially females, should sit down and watch those two videos and see if they might be able to get a feel for the difference between 'hot' and 'pig'.
OK, down off my "Kids today!" soapbox. :-)

Why yes, yes they are. :) ....and how can anything in this thread be 'off topic'? :rotflmao:

Hey, I don't want to ruin the mood for you...lol, but those old Robert Palmer videos have been paid homage lately by a New York gal:
Ingrid Michaelson - Girls Chase Boys (An Homage to Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistible") - OFFICIAL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GBT37_yyzY#ws)

That was just wrong.
-
No problem- I did not watch (and will not watch) the video 'cause, well, (puts on P.C. hat) I choose not to do so. You should hear what Kirby thinks of it....
:-)
And I liked Palmer's videos from that era- still do and I don't want to taint the memory. But thanks for posting 'cause I no doubt would NOT have found it on my own..... ::) ;)

Hahahahaha! Nicely done Mr. Pink, nicely done!...lol.

Actually, IIRC, Robert Palmer was mid- 80's and that was the era of cassette players and the dawning of CD's- or maybe just a few years in the future.
Talent was not out of style yet though. :-) and BTW, Robert Palmer was a talented man. Died of a heart attack at 54.

Man am I behind the times. I had no idea Robert Palmer died 11 years ago.
-
Yep, big surprise then too. If I remember right, heart attack- the big one that saves all the tests and procedures that follow the little ones. Too bad, he was a talented guy I think and really pretty interesting as a human- at least from a distance when I saw him [not performing].
