Title: before I remove battery for light install ?
Post by: h2smokin on October 21, 2012, 01:43:23 PM: Well I finally broke down and removed the bikes bodywork for HID light install today . My question now is what happens when I disconnect the battery to run the wires in? I know I'll have to reset clock but does the removal mess with anything else? Say the fobs or whatever stuff lies beneath this beast :). I have to finish burping the radiator since fluid change today first but trying to prepare, and yes I did the air filter. Thanks

Post by: maxtog on October 21, 2012, 03:15:25 PM: MPG history, clock, and both trip odometers will be reset. Also I believe any temporary diagnostic codes will be wiped.

Post by: h2smokin on October 21, 2012, 05:01:17 PM: I went ahead and wired lights up. I don't use trip meters anyways so that does not matter. Got the lights wired up now. Hope I don't blow something up. No matter how easy me and electrical do not get along well

? That is always the case. Until you are rolling a bit, there will be no reading on the tire pressures. The sensors on the wheels have motion switches.

You're right Max. I should have said that you won't even get the --- in the TPM display after removing the battery till you get rolling.
