It's amazing the difference a few degrees can make! Personally, I don;t think the look too bad and having the risers angles a few degrees more towards me and raised about an inch higher than stock. I also was able to rotate the bar ends forward a few degrees too. Now ergonomics of the bars is SO much better! The Zumo 550 Techmount won't work without a mod, but I rather like the way I remounted the Zumo and Escort.

Installed mine yesterday on top of risers.  Wanted to utilise Jay's mod but too low.  So far am at the adjustment bolt at about 7 oclock, bars extended so two bolt holes visible, grips aligned so they are turned down one setting from horizontal.  I think I could use Jay's mod if I had longer brake lines, but two holes is the extent of the extension on top of the risers.  Felt good on a little run yesterday, will try a longer run later today.  Pressure is definitly more across my palm instead of on the outer edges.

I have the Zumo mounted in the center, between the bars.  Can't legally have a radar detector here (of course), but if I did, I would try ANYTHING other than that.

Crap??? I have a radar detector and the Zumo. The only other things are the Smartcord (for the escort) and the switch for my auxiliary lights. Maxtog my Zumo was mounted in the center, but to do that now would require shaving part of the Techmount base. And that would be in a part of the base at the bolt holes. So I chose to do the the way you see it. None of the stuff is welded to the bike.    I can always change it around if I don't like it. I had lots of RAM parts lying around and there aren't many motorcycle shoppes open at 1AM on a Saturday morning.

Oh and I forgot Snoopy, but he's been riding with for over 10 years...
